I'm trying really hard to find a couple continous hours between now and Sunday... I might have to skip that daily session in bed.

hehehe.... we are all ashamed of our rusty performance? I have only gotten smacked playing online a couple times this year,,,, not the same as playing against the AI to get a high score... I will allot more time next month!!! Well, I got my session in... I tried to finish a cultural win, but it just didn't work out... I lost Space Race... 2048, final score 3033... I think I hurried along to much in the rush to finish the game in time for the deadline. I was only about 300 culture short in two cities... Turned out to be a lot harder map than I orignally thought. Congrats to the winner. Bismark???

Greetings all.... Although this isn't really fair to Bismark, I'm going to extend the deadline for a day or so. The deadline for submissions is now 6PM US Central (GMT -6) on Tuesday, the 27th... This should help those who may have been playing a game and are very near completion of the game. I was hoping (pleading) for more than one actual submission. I'm sure the activity will pick up *hopes upon hopes,* and once you see what we have planned in the way of recognition in the graphics department, I have no doubt more will be playing. Let's just say that multiple champions (CivIII and CivIV) could have their member level image area resemble a highly decorated generals uniform (in a tasteful manner, of course). And look what you have done, you let Bismark get the jump on all of you!

Hey, isn't the end of the month on Friday?! Just let me say this, as it turns out, I plan on finishing the game but I will not be finishing it on time. I am not too worried about that as I will not even be winning my game. This will have been my first completed game on this skill level, and as usually happens when transitioning, I could not keep up my science level. I've done my fair level of conquering in this game, but eventually my science deficit has prevented me from doing any more. So I will go down in defeat whether I submit or not. Also keep in mind that this is the hot summer months here in the northern hemisphere when many people spend a fair amount of time outdoors (well at least I do) my limited gaming time as it is has been impeded even further (thankfully) by some recent adventurous trips I have taken. I will be back for more next month though!

Next month... we'll jump down one level of difficulty to encourage more participation... When I made the file, I'm so used to playing on Noble and above that I didn't think to reduce it.

Bah, as if Bismarck getting the jump on anyone is a bad thing, Goose? Heh, I have no problems with any extensions on the date though (I've already waited 20 days+ so I can wait more). EDIT: The science department for me was the key to my susuccess. The gold early on really set me on a great track. In the beginning, I was seseverely out numbered military wise for the most part. when I invaded Ghandi's continent however, I had Russian Coassaks against Long Bowmen. Then with the invasion of Egypt later on I would lead my tanks against nothing else but Riflemen. Then, led my Armored units would roll against the German Mechanized Infantry. Not to mention I had a unmatched navy which had abobliterated all their defenses (city wise). I could've taken out Saladin also but I didn't want to risk the possible loss to their space program. It all laid in the science sector until I just plain outnumbered everybody.
