Darn! ... the kids who created it graduated and sold it to Platial who has since gone out of business. I am looking for another site to use ... zeemaps does not look like it is good to use as they require way to much info.

I just tried as well, and that link didn't work for me either. It is 4 1/2 years old though, so maybe the site isn't working anymore or the 1BC link.

Well for some reason, it's not letting me get to the page...

but for info, South Hero, VT. 30 miles from Canada. Population of 6000 idiots in the winter swelling up to 15,000 residents in the county counting tourists and campers during the summer. From what I read somewhere, Grand Isle County, Vermont is one of 2 (or 3?) counties in the U.S. that had a land border with Canada but not with the U.S. itself. To get to the cvounty, you have to drive across one of two bridges or a man-made causeway, but to get to Canada, no bridges are required. I'll try to add myself to the site and check it out..

I can almost see the tree growing in my garden. Still doesn't allow me to place marker closer than 12 miles away though. The tree will need to be lonely.

For the U.S. they seem to put your marker on the on the nearest substation (the one that prosses your postal codes first five digets)

I plugged in my old San Jose Ca. address and it was smack on the substation, about a mile and a half from my old house. Zoom in and see if this is how they located yours?

went back and check out the other zip code and it to is off it is not close to the post office or anything the 30102 zip where it is pinpointed is at an old classmates house.

I used to live in Summerfields. Drove down Basswood to get to Denton Hwy constantly. Worked at the Pizza Hut on Denton Hwy (if it's still there).

Was down in Dallas at the beginning of Nov. Sorry I didn't come by for BBQ :cool:

They did, they moved it to Den Haag / 's Gravenhage / The Hague (too many names for one town).

Are you sure you're entering it in the correct box? The default box on that page is for cities in the US have you clicked on the link under that box? I typed it in and got "Amsterdam, Noord-Holland (Netherlands)" Each of the other Dutch cities I typed in came up too.

Hey great idea!

Very accurate too. Puts me right where I should be.

Now I can see how far Henry has to swim from Antartica (I've never bothered to look it up before). Henry is an elephant seal that has been visiting Geelong for the past 5 years. Usually in the summer to malt but this year he came in the winter as well and nobody knows why. He wasn't sick or injured but they do think he was chased in by some killer whales. He is only a baby (4 years old) and a third of the size he will reach when he's fully grown. I hope he finds a girlfreind and settles down somewhere long before then because he's going to be the size of a fire engine by then.:P
