I found an ad with one so I requested some more information etc. This is the letter I got back.
Hello,
thanks for the mail regarding my adorable puppy. She is very
playful, loves to be held like a baby and gets along well with the other
puppies. She loves attention. She loves to curl up in my arms and just fall
asleep. When you look at her, she stares in your eyes, itʼs really
sweet. When she gets tired of playing, she just passes right out, doesnʼt
matter where she is. She often falls asleep before even making it to
her bed. She is very affectionate and loves to be the centre of
attention. She knows sheʼs gorgeous and her confidence makes up for her size.
Fully hand raised.
All i am interested in is a loving and caring home and a home
that would give her all the love, affection and attention that she
deserves. she is coming with Pedigree, registration papers, vet health
certificate, shot papers, microchip, one year congenital health
guarantee.Asking for an affordable $ 120.00 hope you can afford?.
Where are you located?
How is the nature of your job?
Are you married?and with kids?
do you often go on Vacations or business trips?just to know how her new
home would look like.
All me and my lovely family has ever offer this puppy from day
one is just love and that is what is making her grow very healthy and
happy and that is all what we want her to experience in her new loving
home.so if you are sure of giving this lovely puppy a befitting happy
home, then we would be very much happy to let her go over to you.
please email back to confirm to us if you are willing to give her a
good home.
Thanks and waiting for your convenient respond
Ok, so this threw up a few red flags (English bull puppies can fetch over $1000), but I replied and gave a little info about myself, what I do, how many dogs I have etc. This is what I received back.
Thanks for getting back to us regarding Missy.we are really excited to
let her go to your home because you have assured us a loving home.

To tell you a bit about my self,i am 29 and work as a tourist.i was
posted to work in Cameroon.i traveled to Cameroon along side Missy.i am
expecting my first baby ever and i am so happy .We traveled to Cameroon
on a tour since i have been posted there .so i would have to stay and
work here in Cameroon until i am posted somewhere else.

The reason why i am giving out Missy back to the USA is because of the
bad climatic condition here in Cameroon.her vet doctor advice that we
shall look for her another home in the USA which she won't have any
effect as she is very precious.she is very healthy but just that the
climate here is not good for her health .

she would be shipped to you through France Airlines. The shippers
offer door step delivery and also they ship to your nearest airport.this
puppy would be coming with all her papers, toys, clothings and blankets.she
would also be coming with a hand book for her up bringing. All we are
interested in is a loving and caring home and you have promised us
that, and that is the reason why we want you to accept this baby into your
lovely home and take her as your new family member.

We really hope and pray that you take good care of her.please do
send pics of her always so that we see how she is doing in her new home.it
really hurts to let her go but we have to for her own good.
hope you understand that reason why i am, giving out Missy and why i
found my self in Cameroon.
Cameroon is so beautiful and feel with joy just that the climate is
not good for Missy's health.
i would back after a while and i hope i can come visit Missy?
thanks and waiting for your soonest respond.

i have attached pics of her.she is called Missy
Ok so now I know this is about to get into the scam part where I transfer money to an African nation. haha Anyway, I emailed them back and said sorry for the inconvenience but I want to see the dog before I buy it. What a crock...Even if it was true, they would have sold the dog BEFORE they moved to a foreign country...

10 Oddballs of the Animal World

This is kinda cool.

10 Oddballs of the Animal World

MSNBC.

Last Lecture

This is something else.....

Randy Pausch- Last Lecture Reprise

It's about 11 minutes.

Eurotrip 2009

Good day to you all. As I have alluded to, I am in the early stages planning a post GradSchool/Post Law School (We're doing it the smart way, not immediately after getting our degrees but waiting a bit to get some cash saved up) trip to Europe next spring with a good bud of mine from college and some other friends perhaps. We are mainly just tossing around ideas right now.

I have friends in Denmark and Sweden, so we will most likely be flying into Copenhagen and exploring that part of the world with them for a couple of days.

Also, as mentioned is a strong interest to see coastal Croatia, so we may venture out there.

Not so much interested in doing a touristy type of vacation, but seeing more of nature and other hidden gems that are particular to certain areas and regions that are quite awesome to experience without so much of a crowd perhaps....with about a week and a half or two weeks max travel time.

So I'd like to hear from Europeans and non-Europeans alike what might be some great destinations around Denmark/Sweden and perhaps Croatia, or other parts of Europe that should not be missed regardless of where they may be.

Also, I doubt whether this would happen on this particular trip, but I am also very interested in seeing Armenia during my life. There is just something about that place, in that part of the world, with the history and culture of the people there that just fascinate me. If anyone has ever been to Armenia, and what experiences were had there...

and perhaps I shouldn't be thinking about these sorts of things right now, with the home stretch of Gradschool in full swing, but hey, I like to procrastinate as much as the next guy!

My resignation from 1BC

Hey guys, lately in my life I have become way to busy with school, work, friends, girlfriend, family, and etc. I just don't have the time anymore to play games that much. It is now the top world exporter of beef, poultry, soybeans, sugar, coffee, and orange juice. It is rising in other categories. Soy yields this year here in the central-western state of Mato Grosso are the best ever, reaching levels seen in Iowa and Minnesota. And Brazil looks to widen its lead as the top global exporter of ethanol as a result of its low-cost processing of sugar cane.

All that would matter little, though, had Brazilian scientists not figured out how to modify soil and seeds to prosper on the humid, sun-baked cerrado. The Brazilians at EMBRAPA—many trained in part at American agronomy schools—discovered that heavy applications of lime and phosphate-rich fertilizers could reformulate the cerrado's acidic soils. "Brazil had been un-important in the export of food to the world market,"

What is unfolding on the plains at the center of South America probably qualifies as the most important transformation of land since the breaking of sod in the Midwest during America's westward expansion. With comparatively little unused, arable land left in the world's temperate zones, including in the United States, no other country on Earth has Brazil's surge capacity in food production.

Here, the guiding instinct is to achieve economies of scale. While Midwestern spreads commonly span 1,500 to 2,000 acres, modern farms in west-central Brazil typically run more than 20,000 acres.

Brazil has plenty of smaller family farms—more than 4 million in all—that mostly serve the internal market. But the dynamism powering Brazil into the front rank of food producers comes from the big-scale operations. Mechanized and chemical-intensive, this is a far cry from the often romanticized vision of farming portrayed—mostly by nonfarmers—in Europe and parts of the United States. "This is factory farming," allows Kory Melby, a Minnesota farmer who moved to Brazil and consults on Mato Grosso agriculture.

This is also the tropics, with stifling heat and humidity untouched by a freeze. That means an array of pests such as the perennial enemy of soy—Asian rust—needs to be attacked with insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides. The weather, however, conveys an undeniable advantage over the American Midwest, where one crop a year is harvested. Here, two crops are routine, and three are attainable with irrigation.

Still, for all the dynamism here, Brazil's prospects for helping to feed the world are not unclouded.

The producers themselves worry about fluctuating commodity prices, and soaring fertilizer and fuel prices are eating into profits needed to retire debts. Cheap credit can be hard to come by. Sporadic labor troubles and squatters, fights over land titles festering in court, and reports of official corruption all may hinder the coming Brazilian surge in food production. Farmers' subsidies and trade barriers in the United States and Europe also pose obstacles. Price supports and other assistance to American and European farmers foster overproduction there—and less here, say Brazilian officials and producers. They argue that when most ag subsidies were stripped away here, the farmers became more robust competitors.

Woeful infrastructure is a major problem, too. "We have the best weather in the world but the worst logistics," complains Clovis Picolo Filho, a grower and chemical dealer in Sorriso, north of Lucas.

His farm is about 90 miles away, the last half off the asphalt. Getting grain and meat out of the Lucas area is a trial. Railroads in Mato Grosso are scarce, as are ports for barges. The seaports of Paranagua and Santos are some 1,200 bruising miles away—three days' drive. It is akin to trucking farm output from Des Moines all the way to New Orleans. The cost of shipping soy from Mato Grosso to the red-hot China market is 21/2 times higher than what it is for Midwestern soy.

Brazil's food future will also be shaped by the collision of interests over the Amazon rain forest. There is considerable dispute over where the agricultural frontier should end and the rain forest begin. With high prices for beef and grain, speculators continue to find parts of the Amazon an attractive target. Environmentalists say the expansion of soy production is pushing cattle operations toward and into the Amazon. In four decades, forest equaling all of Texas has been lost, mostly to cattle ranching. After three years of environmental progress, the rate of deforestation re-ignited last year, Brazilian satellite analysis suggests. And the drier "burning season" is looming just ahead. "Local people used to say malarial mosquitoes and bad soil would keep agribusiness out," says Paulo Adario, the Amazon campaign director for the environmental group Greenpeace. "Not now."

In the meantime, the next breakthroughs in tropical agriculture are gestating. EMBRAPA is getting an infusion of money and scientists. It has opened an office in Africa, a hunger-ridden continent where some of Brazil's advances could translate well. By 2010, EMBRAPA will be the largest agricultural research agency in the world. It is working on disease-resistant corn, cotton, and soy and on sugar cane that would require less fertilizer. It is developing a "light" pig—more meat and less fat. And Brazil's scientists are experimenting with tropical wheat. Should that venture succeed, expect a shock to the central nervous system of the American breadbasket. "We had the Green Revolution. Now we can have the tropical revolution," enthuses EMBRAPA's Crestana.

We can help feed the world, the Brazilians are saying. It is an ambition that few would want to deny.
What no comedy section?

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. The average home around here is between 100k to 150k but with the market the way it is, most homes are selling for under 100k. 'I have a face that belongs in another century,' he often remarked.

The actor assumed the role of leader off screen as well. He served as president of the Screen Actors Guild and chairman of the American Film Institute and marched in the civil rights movement of the 1950s. With age, he grew more conservative and campaigned for conservative candidates.

In June 1998, Heston was elected president of the National Rifle Association, for which he had posed for ads holding a rifle. He delivered a jab at then-President Clinton, saying, 'America doesn't trust you with our 21-year-old daughters, and we sure, Lord, don't trust you with our guns.'

Heston stepped down as NRA president in April 2003, telling members his five years in office were 'quite a ride. ... I loved every minute of it.'

Later that year, Heston was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. 'The largeness of character that comes across the screen has also been seen throughout his life,' President Bush said at the time.

He engaged in a lengthy feud with liberal Ed Asner during the latter's tenure as president of the Screen Actors Guild. His latter-day activism almost overshadowed his achievements as an actor, which were considerable.

Heston lent his strong presence to some of the most acclaimed and successful films of the mid century. 'Ben-Hur' won 11 Academy Awards, tying it for the record with the more recent 'Titanic' (1997) and 'The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King' (2003). Heston's other hits include: 'The Ten Commandments,' 'El Cid,' '55 Days at Peking,' 'Planet of the Apes' and 'Earthquake.'

He liked the cite the number of historical figures he had portrayed:

Andrew Jackson ('The President's Lady,' 'The Buccaneer'), Moses ('The Ten Commandments'), title role of 'El Cid,' John the Baptist ('The Greatest Story Ever Told'), Michelangelo ('The Agony and the Ecstasy'), General Gordon ('Khartoum'), Marc Antony ('Julius Caesar,' 'Antony and Cleopatra'), Cardinal Richelieu ('The Three Musketeers'), Henry VIII ('The Prince and the Pauper').

Heston made his movie debut in the 1940s in two independent films by a college classmate, David Bradley, who later became a noted film archivist. He had the title role in 'Peer Gynt' in 1942 and was Marc Antony in Bradley's 1949 version of 'Julius Caesar,' for which Heston was paid $50 a week.

Film producer Hal B. Wallis ('Casablanca') spotted Heston in a 1950 television production of 'Wuthering Heights' and offered him a contract. When his wife reminded him that they had decided to pursue theater and television, he replied, 'Well, maybe just for one film to see what it's like.'

Heston earned star billing from his first Hollywood movie, 'Dark City,' a 1950 film noir. Other than beautiful mountain scenery nearby and all the mountain activities, it doesn't get very hot in the summer, or too cold in the winter (unless you live in the high mountains), we don't live anywhere near hurricanes, or earthquakes, and if we see any tornadoes at all, they are tiny ones and usually out East by the Kansas border where no one lives. They are extremely rare here and people rarely think about them. I remember a tornado hitting a town of small population 10 years ago or so in Colorado, but it was a tiny tornado.

So, that was a week ago, I said that. Check out the size of this monstrous tornado today, about 50 miles north of Denver and luckily missing some nearby cities. This one hit in some land where there's not much of anything but a little housing and farmland. YIKES!!! This tornado is over a mile-wide in diameter.

Check out the dumb drivers who don't seem to care about this odd wall of rotating cloud coming towards the highway. (Like I said, we rarely think about them here ;) )

Thats a monster that Oklahoma or Texas would be proud of. lol

Joke of the day

A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant.

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table.

She said, 'For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.'

The wife answered, 'Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband.'

The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: 'Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again.

I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.'

The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish.

So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!...the husband became 92 years old.

The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful ***s should remember fairies are female.....
Opeth

My latest musical dig!!! It would be impossible for us to play just death metal; that is our roots, but we are now a mishmash of everything, and not purists to any form of music. It's impossible for us to do that, and quite frankly I would think of it as boring to be in a band that plays just metal music. We're not afraid to experiment, or to be caught with our pants down, so to speak. That's what keeps us going.[46]

Opeth's earlier works often made use of twin-guitar harmonies, although they were phased out on later releases. "I got tired of it, the whole harmony guitar thing", Åkerfeldt said. "It got out of hand in the mid-90s. Every band was doing that thing."[41] Opeth's songwriting and arrangements rarely follow musical standards, as many songs do not have choruses, and lyrics often do not rhyme. Åkerfeldt noted that the song "Face of Melinda" from the band's fourth release "was my first rhyming lyric". Most of the band's songs exceed 10 minutes in length, which Aaron Burgess of Alternative Press magazine criticized, stating "you can't really be a casual Opeth fan. It takes enough as a listener just to get past the band's epic song lengths."[47]

Vocally, Åkerfeldt shifts between growling death metal vocals for heavy sections, and clean, often whispered vocals over acoustic passages. While death growls were dominant on early releases, later efforts incorporate more clean vocals, with the 2003 release Damnation featuring only clean singing.[41] Rivadavia noted that "Åkerfeldt's vocals run the gamut from bowel-churning grunts to melodies of chilling beauty—depending on each movement section's mood."[15]

The band's lyrics often reflect a bleak outlook on life, with subjects such as failed relationships, nature, death, and depression. Some of the band's albums also have a consistent theme or concept throughout, such as Still Life and My Arms, Your Hearse, whose songs are set together as one continual piece, with the last word of each song the name of the following track.[48]
Gig 'em Aggies!

I'm in college station for several days so yall behave (you know who you are). :D

Caption this photo 050708

"I swear Ralph that mouse was this big!"

"You are so full of it."

Old news brought forward
America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed. Thanks to new technology the Bakken Formation in North Dakota could boost America’s Oil reserves by an incredible 10 times, giving western economies the trump card against OPEC’s short squeeze on oil supply and making Iranian and Venezuelan threats of disrupted supply irrelevant.

In the next 30 days the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) will release a new report giving an accurate resource assessment of the Bakken Oil Formation that covers North Dakota and portions of South Dakota and Montana. With new horizontal drilling technology it is believed that from 175 to 500 billion barrels of recoverable oil are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951. The USGS did an initial study back in 1999 that estimated 400 billion recoverable barrels were present but with prices bottoming out at $10 a barrel back then the report was dismissed because of the higher cost of horizontal drilling techniques that would be needed, estimated at $20-$40 a barrel.

It was not until 2007, when EOG Resources of Texas started a frenzy when they drilled a single well in Parshal N.D. that is expected to yield 700,000 barrels of oil that real excitement and money started to flow in North Dakota. Marathon Oil is investing $1.5 billion and drilling 300 new wells in what is expected to be one of the greatest booms in Oil discovery since Oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938.

The US imported about 14 million barrels of Oil per day in 2007 , which means US consumers sent about $340 Billion Dollars over seas building palaces in Dubai and propping up unfriendly regimes around the World, if 200 billion barrels of oil at $90 a barrel are recovered in the high plains the added wealth to the US economy would be $18 Trillion Dollars which would go a long way in stabilizing the US trade deficit and could cut the cost of oil in half in the long run.

Saudi Arabia has an estimated 300 Billion barrels in reserves.
Lots of us have known about this and the Canadian reserves for decades. Its about time the OPEC members priced themselves out of the market.

FRIDAY....Finally!

I, for one will be glad to see this week end!
