It makes perfect sense though. Here you have two gentlemen who have reached the pinnicle in their Proffession, one being the President of the USA and the other being one of the longest serving Senators in the history of the USA. And yes, they also both happen to come from extremly wealthy and powerful families dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, if not further. Despite their differences in political viewpoints, they can relate to each other as almost none other can.

I refuse to talk about it with people I have just met, and are getting along with. I grew up in a household where the discussion of politics made everyone miserable. So time from time I have definitely let it cloud my judgment of someone. But I have noticed recently that it's easier to just say I don't agree and change the subject. I don't like losing friends because they don't agree with me on something.

I've heard that Ted Kennedy and GWB are (or were) friends. I think Ted and family used to go over to the White House for movie night in the early days of the presidency. This was true with Reagan and Tip O'Neill who'd have drinks together. If we let politics influence how we personally feel about someone... well, it won't be good okay. ;)

Along those same lines, this pertains to just about every other field, including entertainers. John Lenin? Kurt Cobain? Heath Ledger's death will probably make this new Batman movie a monster monetary hit, regardless of how good it is. I'm sure we can think of more examples, but you're right, I think.

I actually blogged about something similar once. It seems like when someone is dying or has died, people seem to want to pretend feelings they never had. What does that say about us? Are we hypocrite's or is it human nature to have compassion for people we once disliked?

I sometimes wonder if there is a Gypsy somewhere gloating on her deeds. The Kennedy Family seems to be cursed with very traumatic ends. I'm going to ask this, then run like hell. Maybe now we can have our Government back from the Monarchy?

He does have my hopes for a long life. Still remember Chaddaquitic.
