I think it would be a good habit for the various branches of government to announce all such matters in the Town Square to ensure maximum coverage. We can look into a more structured approach as the DGame grows.

RE: Mongoose201 wins First Term presidential elections!

Grats to Mongoose. To me it looks like everything went by the book. Although Mongoose was the only one that run for president; he was still elected by a vast majority of votes which the Surpreme Court happened to declare in this thread.

RE: Mongoose201 wins First Term presidential elections!

[quote]I would have run, but for the fact I don't have Civ4 OR Warlords... If there is only one who steps up and announces that they are willing and able, what are the other options? If we as the whole of the citizenry can't find an opposing candidate how would we find an alternative? In essence a poll would determine either to continue the DGame with Mongoose as President or abandon the game altogether. I won't be the one to put that to a vote. If the majority wishes to abandon the game, let them leave and allow the minority to continue. I apologize to the citizenry if the Supreme Court's organization of the elections violated the opportunity to elect a President by voting in a poll, though I think that those citizens that wish to see this game continue without unnessicary delays will understand.

RE: Mongoose201 wins First Term presidential elections!

Whether or not I had ample time to complain doesn't determine whether it's constitutional or not.
