Fall From Heaven 2 PBEM

I have asked before but was hoping we could gather some interest in a PBEM game for the Fall from Heaven 2 mod, I think it's a really interesting mod and if I can get 1 or 2 more people interested in playing this PBEM I would be happy!

Alrighty, I've started it up with the teams CD gave us. I've played my first turn, and need to send it to Nuke. I have Scip and Tones' emails, but not Nuke's.

Prince Dynasty Game

Hey Leo!? How long has it been since we played that Dynasty Game? Anyway, I've TOTALLY Lost my edge at this damn game. It is a damn shame too cause for a while there I was able to win about 2/3rds of the Prince Games I started up.

I'm going to generate a small Pangea map with pretty much everything on standard settings. I figure that that is the most basic version of the game, so I should start reestablishing my abilities there. Anybody who wants to join in and play a following Dynasty let me know.

BTS Two on Two Locked Alliance PBEM

I am getting the BtS this weekend, and would like to jump start a locked alliance two on two slug fest type of game (NO AI!!!!!). Custom maps not necessary, but if anyone has something they'd like to try or design, I'd be open to suggestion.

SwordintheStorm seemed interested in this when I mentioned it before the holiday so I'll give him first dibs, if he shows up here in the next couple days before I get the game, otherwise that leaves two people I am looking for.

I know PBEMs can be a real hassle to complete, usually people drop out, but for the record, no PBEM has ever been dropped on account of me! ;)

So I am looking for serious Civvers only, who wont drop out or disappear. You know who you are! ;)

We can discuss the terms of the game whence we have the participants.

Civ 4 Multi-player Tournament in Toronto

I'm conducting a psychology research study at York University, Toronto, to explore the personality traits among Civ 4 players. Similar studies have been done on MMORPGs (i.e. World of Warcraft) but not much attention have been given to multi-player turn-based strategy games like Civ 4. Here are the facts so far:

1. There will be a tournament held at York University (1 day event, some time early 2009)

2. You will be asked to fill out a questionnaire for the study.

If you live in or near Toronto, and is a fan of Civ 4 and would like to find out what Civ players have in common, you can support this project in a number of ways.

1. Take part in the CIV 4 TOURNAMENT DEBUT @ York University. (this may never happen again, so seize the opportunity). You don't have to be York University student. All levels of play are welcome!

2. Give me some pointers on the technical aspect of holding a multi-player tournament. I do have several questions:
a. What's the max # of players can play in one game?
b. Optimal system requirement to support multi-player.
c. Suggested length of game (sufficient for players to show their skills).

Haven't done one before and am more interested in seeing how the mechanics work.

Understand that I work... a lot... and at times may go 2-3 days without playing. If the game goes a year, so be it.

On the other hand, if everyone is already tied up in games, perhaps someone would give me an hour of time just to see how it all works? Start a game and go back and forth a couple of times and then call it quits.

Duel PBEMs

I'm looking to set up a couple Duel PBEMs (myself against one other person, no AI) on a Duel map. With only 2 players, we should be able to circumvent many of the hangups/delays usually associated with the pbem format.

In one of the duels, I would like a longtime member of 1bc. In the other, I'll play against one of the newer members of this fine site ;).

So, if anyone wants in, just post here and we can get this started. :)

Also... I have a idea for another PBEM down the road that could be fun. 4 Human players, No AI, with the Human teams divided into 2 "assumed" locked alliances before the game starts. We would need some sort of agreement that the "allied" teams wouldn't discuss the map until they have actually met ingame, but all that can be ironed out at some point.
