Yeah, this should go in suggestions, but .... (shades of SIM)
It would be nice if you could select on the ruins and have them designated as "develop tourist attraction", then workers would do something and/or a small amount of gpt would be allocated over some # of turns to "develop" it. Over time, that area would produce gpt which you could allocate (specifically) to revenue, science or luxury (only one). Plus, they could add in a couple of "side effects". If the civ of the ruins were still active, it could impact (adversly or positively) your relations with them. (If you caused the ruins, adversly. If another civ caused them, but you settled the area, it could be positively or negatively.) Perhaps you could even allocate a portion of the gpt to the other civ. Besides this, there could be a potential of a small city in the area "flipping" to the civ of the ruins (if still alive). It could add an interesting twist.

I have dug on farms and in gardens and in road work and on the railroad, but it takes big shells dropping close to make you really dig. - A C (Sgt.) York
My latest "life quote" -
It is what it is ...
"Censorship does not interfere with the constitutional rights of every American to sit alone in a dark room in the nude and cuss. There are realistic taboos, especially regarding political comments. Our leaders were not elected to be tittered at. For example, we're allowed to say Ronald Reagan is a lousy actor, but we're not allowed to say he's a lousy governor-which is ridiculous. We know he's a good actor. And we're not allowed to make fun of President 'Johnston'. But if we praise him, who would believe it?" - Pat Paulsen
