I was wondering if anyonw has come accross this problem, any help would be much appreciated

The problem I'm having is with the CIV3 expanison pack PTW (Play The World) First of all it has nothing to do with my OS, hardware etc, it is a software problem. I have both patches installed and both the orginal CIV3 and the Expansion are software that I purchased. The problem is when you play multiplayer in PTW with the HOTSEAT option everything works great except one thing. When playing with 2 humans and 6 computer AI, the human player who goes first never gets to see what units in his field of view are moved by other civs at the end of the turn. Where as the 2nd human player sees all the automated computer turns when they finish their turn as normal. So, in essecnce all the first player can see is the moves he makes and thats it, he does not know what units have been moved in his territory by other civs or barabrians. For example, player 1 (Human) is at war and is engaging a bordering civ, he ends his turn, the game should show him what the other civ is doing i.e attacking him and the outcome, well it doesn't, player one has no clue what happened till the human player has finished their turn. Player one never sees any other civ movement within their field of view after they end their turn, where as the second human player works fine and can see other civ moves after they end their turn and what is in their field of view.

I really don't know if this will work or if it is the solution you want. When setting up the game you could have the order set to Player 1 - AI - AI - AI - Player 2 - AI - AI - AI. This should (not sure really) allow each player to see the moves of 3 AI civs. The player 2 would still see the moves of the Barbarians, but perhaps this would level the playing field.

There's really nothing to be done, it's something that's been complained about since its release.

Add in the fact that in PBEM you do not get to see any moves but your own ever...there should really be a 'replay moves' button like SSI had...

In a slightly related topic, another problem with hot seat is that no matter what we tried we only could make the AI have the lowest level difficulty rating. When a friend and I played this (2 humans and 6 computer opponents) we each ended up on a separate continent with 3 opponents. I killed all 3 of my enemies before 1000bc without ever losing a single Gallic Swordsmen. We quit soon afterwards. Anyone else find this to be the case?

PTW, despite all the good stuff, is still kinda buggy on multiplayer. Its too bad.

CIV III Conquests comes out soon, and hopefully they fix a lot of that stuff before its release.

Thanks for all the help guys. It just seems unbelievable that such an obvious flaw could make it out of testing, I hopt that conquests has fixed this problem.

Mauser97 - Unfortunately I have come accross exactly the same problem and don't see any way around it. It may be best to turn off the option to view enemy moves, that way neither one of you has any advantage.
