I do have the beta upgrade, and the game says version 1.29b in the corner of the title page.
However, I still can't figure out how to do those things.
In the Windows version, if you right click on a city, you get a menu that includes Abandon City. With the Mac, there's no right click. Am I missing something.
Also, in city view, you see the garrison along the bottom. In Windows, I would double click on a unit, and when I left city view, that unit was on top and active. Doesn't work for me in the Mac version. Again, am I missing something?
Thanks for the help. Perfect

I bought an Imac, which is the un-upgradable, all-in-one model with a flat screen. (the Emac is the same but it's a glass tube monitor). I got a 20 inch screen.
Overall, I like it. The display is beautiful, everything works so easily and gracefully, it's more intuitive, the foot print is TINY compared to what I used to have.
There's still some adapting I have to do, and I have to learn how to do certain things - not EVERYTHING is intuitive, to me, at least. But I give it high marks.
The negative side - it ain't cheap. For the same money, you can buy two PC clones of roughly the same capabilities, and have some change left over.
Also, it occasionally comes up that an application is expecting a PC and doesn't handle a Mac too well. My company uses an online timesheet program, and I had to download Microsoft's Internet Explorer in order to use it.
Any specific question?
Perfect
PS - can anybody tell me how to ABANDON A CITY? Thanks.

I don't see what your problem is. You just right-click on the city and (assuming it's not your capital) go down to "abandon city." Look, I can do it right now. I just...
Ah. Ahhhh. Of course, the mouse that comes with your iMac is that buttonless one, huh? I see your problem. To get around this, you hold Control as you click your city. Then that menu comes up and Abandon city should be right where you left it.
You also may want to consider getting a new mouse. I use a Logitech Cordless Click!™ Plus optical mouse, but if you balk at the $50 pricetag, you can get a corded Click!™ for half that price. It's got two mouse buttons, a scroll wheel, a quick-switch button (doesn't work with Civ, unfortunately, as Civ's somewhat of a resource hog), and a comfortable shap (less surgery later on == good!).
