Is it wise to go for a cultural overtake of enemy cities or does it cost to much?
Maybe its better to run on with my armed forces?

Well, it can get expensive, especially, if you are relatively close in culture. But you have an advantage in culture, lots of time, money and luck, then it can be a very easy clean way to do it.

There is a way of doing it and I call it culture mongering. It is expensive, but it keeps the peace, which in turn generates income -- keep that in mind.

I've done it a few times to get a city into fully populated continents. One way to abuse this is with a war. Its much easier to convert captured cities (just be on the right side of the right people!). There isnt much of a window for use though, 'sepecially in harder levels. Once a civ hits nationalism you cant convert 'em.

Well you can estimate the likelihood of a flip and then make a decision depending on the specific circumstances.

...If you really want to calculate it then you can read this information here. Then you can figure out exactly how likely it is, depending on what you know and what you can find out about the city. ... Or you could just pound them in with your tanks!!!
