I know, I know, you're not supposed to use cheats...but the computer cheats!

As I'm at work I can't remember my Civ 3 version # (I bought it about 2 yrs ago), but all the posted cheats, except one, don't seem to work on my version.

The "cheat" I'm referring to is the "Multi" save (saving a game as "multi.sav", re-opening it to see the entire map, etc). This does give you an insight into how the AI works as well as all the advantages the AI has over you in terms of starting units.

Does anyone know of any that work on the Mac?

It only worked on the first PC release so if you've patched it that could be the reason.
