Unfortunately they dont make it for the mac either. It is a really good game and like you said it wont easily kill 8 hours of your time. Somtimes the age advancements seem a little too fast. A good game can usually be two hours long. The cool thing is it is a realtime game and there is no time to think of strategy between turns because there are no turns. However there is a pause button but can only be used 3 times in online play. I taught my 8 year old nephew how to play in one day.
It does lack some depth that Civ has and is more centered around the battle aspect.

I love unreal, and doom III. Lately I have been playing tons of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. WHich they do have for the mac.

Over and Out.

What's your thots on Medal of Honour? (That's MS too?). Is it worth a "buy"? I don't buy many comp games, as the wife gets upset, but I'm always on the lookout for good ones.

I never got into Doom, but its the same idea as the Marathon series which I loved.

Is it worth to Buy?

I would wait till Pacific Assault comes out...before the end of the year sometime. And then wait till we as a clan have put it to the test.
EA Games Pacific Assault

But if you can find it for a deal:

It all depends on your take on First Person Shooters. Unlike Battlefield 1942/Halo/Unreal which are typically run and gun, MOHAA can force you to be more strategicly inclined and use team work...TEAM WORK is absolutely a must.

Why world war II all over again?:What really made this game popular is its release right when Saving Private Ryan was out. So the game play itself is influenced by the movie. It does a good job of putting you in the boots of a soldier.

Also: If you are online(DSL/Cable) and your CPU/Vid Card can handle the graphics, its a truly awesome game. I believe it is so far the Longest Running first person shooter to this day...Halo is next and catching up

E-Honda,
re MoHAA,
Thanks for the review, I'll see if I can find it at my Mac store. I LOVE thinking/challenging/strategy games, so it sounds good.

I used to play all the Marathon versions years ago (the first  shoot-em-up game I remember). It preceded Doom etc,by a few years.

Ever played Railroad Tycoon? That's one hard game to play!! Its very challenging, but the "stock market" component of the game opens things up for all kinds of back-stabbing, take-overs, etc.

Never played RailRoad Tycoon...but i hear the kids love it and it develops good money reasoning skills.

There is one antique I like to play a while back...it was called Afterlife.
Somewhat similar to SimCity or Railroad T I suppose. Let me see:

Afterlife screenies
This being a dos game tells you how old it is. A very interesting Lucas Arts game. And no, I didn't have a MAC at that time.
