Played this through... Ended up being great Throughout the game, I kept having various civs, mainly the germans, contacting me and offering deals of MPP for a few gold (like 3) per turn. If I actually asked for a MPP, they'd want 50 gpt plus... But for some reason they occasionally would pop up with a msg of 'You need this more than I do, so accept it already'. I'd accept and Bismark will tell me he's all done, I may go.
After the spanish died, the Germans immidiately declared war on and went after the celts. By that point I was 15 or so turns away from the united nations... So I declared war on Germany and got babylon, egypt, celts, and myself to ally vs germany. Germany still manages to take out egypt before the 16 turns. When the vote comes along... The far superior germans lose to the Babylon and celts voting for myself for a diplo victory.
15 turns of defending my island from a far superior nation was somewhat fun. I had a decent amount of artillery and subs, just kept bombarding what I could and picking off the injured and transports with subs while trying to protect the city building the UN.
I'm now sure that diety... even demi god... are skill levels pretty much reserved for island maps.
