one more thing, during the war-time my democracy govt was overthrown twice already. Luckily that, my govt (religious) can recover in one turn. why do people overthrow me.. i always make them happy. when the govt is overthrown then many cities are celebrated.

Do you think if i don't declare the war-time.. should i be overthrown ? or may be during the war my governer could not manage the citizen mood and may make many of them gone unhappy.. in stead of giving many cities gone dis-order, they just overthrown me. well, i prefer to be overthrown instead of letting my 80 cities gone dis-order anyway. remeber civ2, when a hundered of cities gone dis-order at the same time i feel like to shut down my computer right away...

any comments on govt overthrown...

war weariness works in strange ways. in democracy, even if you give them tons of luxuries, theyll still be war weary. youre only safe bet is to make peace, or switch govts (if youre religious, it wont take long, a turn or two)

Hi, guys
This game is so exciting. I don't know how many of us have played to this level with 16 civs. If you have finished the emperor, then try the demigod, diety and sid. Ther are many new things that we'll see/face at this level. Armies of calvary are so important in this level. this is the first time that i build the military academy in order to biuld the army and i am just aware that we can hurry army (at the begining, i think i can not hurry since it requires 400 shields to build, cost equal to big wonder). however, it took long times to build so it would better to locate your elite cavalry and spot on the ICU enemy unit to get the leader and build the army. of couse when you got the tank, then the calvaries are less important. so far, i enjoy watching the german panzers and mechs moving along my border to take out the turk. i can't miss a second watching what other AIs are doing in the game. the current situation is now the german and turk have gone into the nuke war. they frighten me (enen i'm not at wat with them) when the german and the turk nukes hit each other near my border.. the nukes come out from nowhere and hit in the middle of city with a scaring sound. i still can hear the frightened sound even i don't see the nukes. it looks like the real war with siren all around the cities. this makes the pollutions throughout the german and the turk territory. this is my second time on nuke war (i face with the nuke war once on civ2 at the emperror level). if i am successful in planting the spy in berlin then i'll inform you how mighty is the german army (so far, after capture london, defeat 12 mechs + 6 TOWs, i have left with 2 armies, 40 cavalries and 60 infantries).

regarding, the govt overthrown, you are right. we can't prolong the war in democracy without the universal suffrage. in other level, we do own this wonder, so no problem with overthrow. i was overthrown 4 times and before my people overthrow me the fifth time, i overthrow my govt and change to republic, i can also save some money as well, 120 troops + 90 workers, i pay around 30 gpt in republic (we don't need many troops with railroad).

The curren turn is 440 (100 more to go), around 1850AD, and my situation is that i got modern armour (MA) (well, Sid may intent for AIs to go for nuke/pollute path instead of cleaning path, ecology/recycling like what i always choose, since the german and turk have not got the ecology yet) and begin to air lift my troops into the german territory. Story of how i capture london (so tough!!! hr!!), become modern age, make people happy and get the MA will be given later. keep watching.. don't go away.. and please share if you have done it before.

here is the on going story of my path to diety.
Capture the city of Londom
due to the strong defender of mechs and TOWs, i decide to make an alliance and ROP with the egyptian by giving her the replaceable parts. well, she has no horses, salpeters and rubbers, only riflemans she has, so it is quite a little or no help at all from the egypt, but she can distract the english so that i can destroy/capture others english cities more easier using armies and cavlary against the TOWs. after 20 turns, the egypt make peace with the eng, i give her the industrialization to alliance with me again. after 20 turns, i was overthrown 4 times and finally turn my govet to republic..my advice is if you need to prolong the war (more than 20 turns, try to conquer the biggest city/full of wonders) then be in the republic instead of democracy (well, i don't fancy communism or facism at all, but AIs seem to like the fascism very much). i send my infantry to occupy every squares of london and give one path for the egypt to sneek in with her riflemans and guerillas. this will abandon all production in london and eliminate its population from 32 to down to 9 in which i'm now ready to conquer with 5 armies and 80 cavalry. the egypt keep attacking the mechs with the riflemans and guerilla, well, it make the mechs become stronger instead of weaker (it would be the same if i did with my calvary, and it is always like this, even the TOWS is in red, some times i need 4-5 calvary to destroy it)... and this is the help i got from the egypt. also several mechs/TOWs attack the rifleman but fail, reducing number of good defending unit. so i used 5 armies and 80 calvaries to capture london in one turn and lost half of my unit (i've left with 2 armies and 40 calvaries). then i make peace with the eng, change my govt to democracy and begin to research to corporation (i set sci and lux rate to zero during the war, make money amap). i have cash in hand about 25,000 golds, and research the corp to tank and flight, all in 4 turn each (german and others offer me 6000 each tech, but i pay around 2000 - 2500 each to research by myself). during this time my empire is so prosperous due to the research lab in every city so the border expand so quickly and cover the entire continent (i told you before, it's a good stretegy to let her finish the internet before capture, and everything just join together at the right moment). during my prosperity i still let the egypt and hundreds of the eng troops wander in my terrirtoy, don't want to bother them.

Make my people happy
during the war with the english, i send 4 of my settlers on ship to another continent and pay the german 1600 gold for ROP, and take control of silks, ivories, and spices (well, they are at war, destroying each other, give me some land for lux, but i have to be quick, that's why i need ROP for moving in zero turn, i nearly get incenses, but the german see my settler, so he won't destroy the roman city.. how genius the AI is..this is why i love civ so much..). i have lots of dyes and wines in my continent, gem from russia, fur from turk, and incense from german, this is enough to set my lux rate to zero at all time war without any problem on the city of size 12.

Become Modern
when the german almost finish the roman, i make ROP with rome (pay hime a 1000 gold) and and create the new city in roman territory (otherwise, german would take it). this make me at war with roman and my people would upset, but i already predict that the war should not be long since the roman would be very weak and tend to offer peace. my war with roman activate the MPP between the roman and the egypt, this make me get rid of egyptian without to declare war on it. when roman has one last city, i use the same trick as i did with the greece (where i got the steam power), i offer peace to roman and give him 755 gpt for electronics and amphibious, then you know what i did (i need amphibious, since the last roman city is an island in a single square in the ocean, i have to capture it asap, but the german did the job for me). and this how i turn to be modern civilization..the same way as i turn into industrial civ by giving greece 350 gpt for magnetism and theory of gravity.

Path to Modern Armour
i begin with the rocketry (AIs need this for TOW but i need it for aluminium, i normally don't build TOW since it is always better to build mechs). once, i got the rocketry then i expel the eng out of my land, this time she obeys, but i have to get rid of her anyway.. again my people are upset..but i already get my tanks on ship to visit her two paradise islands (each is 8 turns away, this is enough time for peace to be offered). when i land on her last city, offer peace and give her 1755 gpt for ecology, computer, and advanced flight (if i have 1855 gpt i may get fission instead of AF)... then you can guess what would happen. i hope you won't blame me for this, it's just the game, right... my actual behaviour is totally opposite to this diplomacy tricks.. now, i begin the research on synthetic fibers which i think it is the winning clean/pollution free path sid give us in this level (since, AI would not take this path at all, until they've completed all other techs).

Crazy Nuke War
during the second war with english, when the turk has just completed cure for cancer, i send my 3 ships contain 7 tanks + 6 infantries + an army of infantry standby in the gulf of the turk (i don't want my people to get upset so many times, so i make the necessay war at the same time, and make peace at the right moment, but now i got the universal suffrage, so democracy is fine), prepare to fight with many of the turk's mechs and tanks, this would not work, without the backup of 6 infantries, and the reinforcement mechs, air-lift from my continent, this stretegy works on demigod with only one army of infantry + fews infantries against the calvary. i then capture cure for cancer, built the airport for reinforcement mechs upgrading from my 50 infantries... i still need one more city for the fur, once i got it, then i make peace with the turk... by this time i got the most clean and powerful land unit, a mighty modern armour..this is the first tech that i am the first who discovers in the game, so sid gives me a scientific leader of geresa, thank you sid.. meanwhile the turk and the german are still nuking each other.. pollutions are all over the german and the turk territory. do you beleive that, the german nukes every city of the turk twice (that's why i hear the nuke sound all the time), all turk's cities are now at size 1. i therefore, take this opportunity to offer peace to the turk and give him 2285 gpt for fission, spaceflight and miniaturization (then again, you can guess, what'd happen to the turk, please note that, you can not trade carzy techs like this if you are not at war with them, they'll never give you at all even you give them 10,000 gpt, so take the chance if you got one). the env symbol on my status panel is getting dark yellow...forest turn into tundra, grassland into plain, plain into desert... both of them don't care to research ecology at all, so pity to the beautiful world.. the AIs are so ignorance on the pollution. finally, the turk is removed from the world map, leaving the pollution for my workers to clean up.

Prepare to Conquer
Now, it is 1950AD, 440 turns, there are 3 of us, a mighty german fascist, a prosperous arab democrat and a mediocre russia fascist, 100 more turns to go. i have to prepare and think how i take on with the german. the stretgy i did with the france on the demigod is to destroy amap his cities in one turn, but france has only infantries for defence, while the german has mechs and the fast panzer like my MA. Now, i'm successful in planting my spy in berlin, look at his unit and mine. my idea is to begin form one far sites (already set up 5 cities, with spices and ivories, neighbouring to the the german cities(captured for rome), set up a strong base and have enough MA and mechs, but how many ????. i'm sure he would nuke on me, how do i defend, what if he uses ICBM, i don't have any defence for the nuke so far... and i would lose some of my lux resources (silks, spices, and ivory) if i'm at war with him. probably, i may need to delay the war until i got SDI. that could be in another 20 more turns (or faster if i exchange eco with him, should i give him eco ???). Do you think, the german would give me such a long peace time ???

after i capture cure for canser, i'm successful in planting my spy in berlin (well, they are not related). here is the units reported by my spy. i have a total of about 100 military units.
