Is the Scoring different for Conquests? I finished a game (epic game) of civ III with Conquests XP and was not issued a score at the end or placed in the Hall of Fame. This is the first regular civ game I have completed since beating the conquests scenarios.
I did change some rules for the world I created. Would this affect the Hall of Fame or is there no such thing in civ 3 conquests?

When I change the rules or modify the civs, etc. I never get included in the hall of fame. It must only include standard game.

Only standard games are recorded. Any modifications to the rules exclude you from being placed in the HoF.

You can edit the file manually by opening it in notepad.

The vanilla file is "C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\HighScores.cv3".

The PTW file is "C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\CIV3PTW\HighScores.cv3".

The C3C file is "C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Conquests\HighScores.cv3".

Add new entries on a new line. Use the format:

 NAME CIV SCORE DIFFICULTY VICTORYTYPE WIN/LOSE

The values are:

 CIV
0=BARBARIANS
1=ROMANS
2=EGYPTIANS
3=GREEKS
4=BABYLONIANS
5=GERMANS
6=RUSSIANS
7=CHINESE
8=AMERICANS
9=JAPANESE
10=FRENCH
11=INDIANS
12=PERSIA
13=AZTECS
14=ZULU
15=IROQUOIS
16=ENGLISH
17=MONGOLS
18=SPANISH
19=VIKINGS
20=OTTOMANS
21=CELTS
22=ARABS
23=CARTHAGINIANS
24=KOREANS
25=SUMERIANS
26=HITTITES
27=DUTCH
28=PORTUGUESE
29=BYZANTINES
30=INCA
31=MAYA

DIFFICULTY
0=CHIEFTAIN
1=WARLORD
2=REGENT
3=MONARCH
4=EMPORER
5=DEMIGOD
6=DEITY
7=SID

VICTORY TYPE
0=DOMINATION
1=MILITARY
2=CULTURAL
3=DIPLOMATIC
4=SPACE RACE
5=RETIRED
6=RANK
7=SCORE

WIN=1
LOSE=0

So if you played as the Ottomans on Regent, had a score of 12345 and won through domination, the entry would look like this:

 Osman 20 123435 2 0 1

Is this different than vanilla civIII? I can't help modifying the rules (Can't stomach the corruption) and it seemed my games used to be entered into the Hall of Fame.

Yes, this is a change from regular Civ3. I don't know why they felt it necessary to do but they did it, and I keep waiting for someone to ha...er...figure out a way to disable that 'feature.'

Can you create your own map and place in the Hall of Fame when playing it?

Not sure what you mean. You can't turn it on in the editor or anything but you can add to the HoF manually (look at my long post).

what I meant to say was, If you are playing a custom map with standard rules (the only change being the geography of the map), would that game be eligible for the Hall of Fame?

Yes, it will be recorded in the HOF ... as the rules haven't been changed.
