Start: 4000 BC

We are starting out as the Seafaring and Aggy tribe of the Utopians (Netherlands), led by Kings LC and Ness (King William).

Difficulty Level: Deity
Land Mass: Normal
Land Formation: Random
Opponents: 7 selected by LC.
All other rules and options set to default.

1) 4000 BC- Utopia founded. Started researching Ceremonial Burial. Science set to 80 percent, netting 1gpt.
2) 3950 BC- Worker begins road
3) 3900 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
4) 3850 BC Zzzzzzzzzz
5) 3800 BC- First road built. Mining started on Tobbaco Road.

6) 3750 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzz
7) 3700 BC- Zzzzzzzzz
8) 3650 BC- zzzzzzzzz
9) 3600 BC- zzzzzzzzzzzzz
10) 3550 BC- Zzzzzzzzzz

11) 3500 BC- Utopia builds first warrior, is set to build another, and expands it's culture. Worker completes mine and moves to another tile. Warrior begins exploration. Luxury slider set to 10 percent to avoid rioting.
12) 3450 BC- worker begins road on grassland tile.
13) 3400 Bc- French warrior spotted to the north.
14) 3350 BC- Zzzzzzzzzz
15) 3300 BC- Road completed. Mine started.

16) 3250 BC- Warrior started, 3rd begun. Luxury slider bumped back down to zero.
17) 3200 BC- Ceremonial Burial discovered. Writing is next. Science slider set to 90 percent. Damn! Goody hut popped. Goth Warriors found
18) 3150 BC- Our warrior defeats barb in battle, is not wounded at all
19) 3100 BC- Blue borders spotted to the NE of Utopia. Phoencian barb camp spotted as well.
20) 3050 BC Phoenecian camp disrupted and 25 gp plundered.

There you go Ness. We don't have the greatest starting location, but there would appear to be some promising lands to the East. There are Dyes in the Jungle. We'll have to deal with the blue colored tribe fairly early, and who knows how far the French are. The French don't have CB, but won't give us Masonry, Bronze Working or Warrior Code for it. All they have is 10 gp. I'll let you decide if you want to sell it to them or not.

Take her away!

1. 3000: We meet the Germans, they are technologically advanced.

2. 2950: We destroy the Barbarian fortification in the Garganol Mountains to the east of Utopia. More Barbarians are spotted in the Jungles of Endor and the German's desert waste lands of Dune.

3. 2900: We defend ourselves against a Barbarian onslaught in the volcanic caves. We are lucky that the battle did no awaken the dragon Kushiro.

4. 2850:

5. 2800: We meet a hoard of Barbarians in the German mountains. I will leave these savages alone and hope they cause the rude Germans some pain.

6. 2750: I ransack the Barbarian camp in Germany to take the gold, but I leave the surrounding barbs to do their dirty work. We gain 25 gold. However, the germans have moved an archer to our borders. A Barbarian camp is spotted in the Jungles of Endor. We also make contact with the English. They are very advanced.

7. 2710 :A Barbarian camp is spotted in the Jungles of Endor. We also make contact with the English. They are very advanced.

8. 2670:

9. 2630:

10. 2590: We meet the Koreans. They do not have cerimonial Burial. We trade Cerimonial Burial and 78g for Bronze Working with the Koreans. I trade Pottery and Cerimonial Burial to the French for Warrior Code and 34g.

11. 2550: We build our first settler and start a boat.

12. 2510:

13. 2470:

14. 2430:

15. 2390: Euphoria founded.

16. 2350: We build our first boat.

17. 2310: We contact Spain, they are light years ahead of us.

18. 2270: Volcano erupts, no damage to us.

19. 2230:

20. 2190: saved and sent.

Honestly, we are already almost out of expansion room. Hopefully there is a large, uninhabited island somewhere that we can grow on. I've got one boat on the seach of one already.

Take it away.

Start: 2190 BC

17 turns to writing

1) 2150 BC- Portugal builds Collosus.
2) 2110 BC- zzzzzzzzz
3) 2070 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
4) 2030 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzz
5) 1990 BC- Euphoria builds warrior as 4 British Warriors enter our territory.

6) 1950 BC- Utopia Builds Settler. British Warriors bypass our city
7) 1910 BC- Zzzzzzzzz
8) 1870 BC- zzzzzzzzz
9) 1830 BC- zzzzzzzzzzzzz
10) 1790 BC- Zzzzzzzzzz

11) 1750 BC- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
12) 1725 BC-
13) 1700 Bc- France demands 20 gp. We begrudgingly give in. We have no choice. We're badly outnumbered. Utopia builds curragh, starts settler.
14) 1675 BC- France completes Pyramids
15) 1650 BC- Writing discovered. Philo next. Euphoria builds worker. Spearman next. Amsterdam founded. Our most recent curragh sent on suicide mission west of Utopia in an act of desperation. We trade writing to the French for Iron working and 35 gp. We trade writing to Korea for the Wheel and 25 gold. Everyone else has writing.

16) 1625 BC- our first curragh is destroyed by waves of barbarian pirates. Our second curragh is lost in deep waters. Portugal completes the oracle.
17) 1600 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzz
18) 1575 BC- by the way, we have horses near Utopia, but no Iron.
19) 1550 BC- England demands 22 gp. we give in once more. We seem to be delaying the inevitable at this point.
20) 1525 BC nothin' doing

This game seems to be going nowhere fast. See what you can do with it. It may be best to just start another, as we're vastly surrounded. Perhaps you should use the nuclear option and blow it up. Let me know if that's what you want to do, and I'll start another. Or we could try and scrape through it. Either way, just let me know!

I'll give it a go tonight. I think we can strategically place four more cities, and get 3 luxuries (Incents, Furs and Dyes) and 2 Resources (Iron and Horses). If we can build temples and Libraries fast, me might get a slight edge in Culture. If we can find new lands or islands, we might be able to become a naval power later.

We have no chance of winning by military might anytime soon, so culture is the only route. With such close proximity to the other civs, if we can keep peace, let them duke it out, we might be able to fill in the gaps with our own settlers and spearmen. The only problem I foresee is a surprise attack by our neighbours and dieing a slow painful death.

I'll do what I can tonight and let you know. WE had a good idea, but got screwed with a bad start location, and the fact that every civ seems to be on the same continent. Does that mean there is an empty continent to settle, or an AI civ with the luxury of having an entire continent to themselves?

Our civilization has decided to become a nomadic race, and move out to the sea. Since the game does not allow you to build floating cities, we must retire the game and start another.

... and so it was, the sea-peoples of Utopia were left to roam the seas in search of a better land. After days on end of sail, with only enough food and water to last but a few more hours, these proud travelers spotted a barren rock of an island, and upon this rock there was as clear as day a door. One of the mighty nomads happened to jump off the boat onto the rock and open the door. To his surprise, smoke and mist filled the air, and upon passage through the smoke and mist was a world filled with promise; lush forrests and fertile plains. And so he gave the signal, and all those upon the boat followed him, to a land that would be UTOPIA.

(Ness, I'll start the game tomorrow night )

16) 3250 BC- Zzzzzzzzzz
17) 3200 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzz
18) 3150 BC- Incense spotted to the NE.
19) 3100 BC- Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
20) 3050 BC nothin' doing

Well, our start seems to be a bit better than last time. We're not surrounded by everyone it would seem, and although there is a bit of desert to the north, we're aggy, so we can make good use of it. You have a settler in 3 turns, so how about going out there and getting those spices, eh?

1. 3000: Our Carragh has spotted some blue boarders. My guess, Spain.

2. 2950: We have met a German Spear and Archer batallion. They have not discovered pottery yet, they wont trade anything but gold, so I'll hpold out for a bit. Our Warrior is victorious against a barbarian onslaught.

3. 2900:

4. 2850

5. 2800

6. 2750:

7. 2710:

8. 2670:

9. 2630: Right when I place the Euphoric settlers on their new home land, a barbarian tribe pops up to the north. I build the city, which disbands the barbarian tribal homes, and nets us 25 gold. I trade 57 gold and pottery to the Germans for Warrior Code. This leaves us with a total of 1 gp, those barbarians will get nothing from us .

10. 2590:

11. 2550:

12. 2510:

13. 2470:

14. 2430: Utopia builds a Barracks, settler started.

15. 2390:

16. 2350:

17. 2310:

18. 2270:

19. 2230:

20. 2190: Saved and sent.

Not terribly eventful. WE have lots of land options to settle. By the time I get it back, we will have two powerhouse cities (Utopia and Euphoria). I would recomened settling the flood plain between Utopia and Euphoria next, that area could make us a nice little settler factory. If we can get some more settler out fast, we might be able to score som wines and incents too. This game has the appearance of a fun one. Take it away bro.
