That's a neat trick, Ness, doing gpt trades for techs with civs that are about to be destroyed. You don't even suffer a rep hit when they are finished off! Talk about a keen exploit!

Its a fantastic trick, though the Germans will probably be the last civ we can do this to. There are really only 3 civs left, Spain, France and us. Once we get London, we can build a bit of our infastructure, but I'm not sure what course of action we should take.

Start: 1220 AD.

Banking in 12 turns. We are at war with England.

1) 1230 AD- Our 1st Cavalry is born.
2) 1240 AD- Nottingham has fallen to the Spanish. We must make a move on London very soon. Our Armies have moved back to the outskirts of London. We will have 3 Cavalry and 7 Longbow ready to attack on the next turn. Germany will not accept even 100 gpt for Astronomy. We trade our Ivory to France for Gems, 16gpt and 5 gp as well as their world map. That is the best we could do, aside from a bunch of deadend techs.
3) 1250 AD- The Germans have been destroyed. We get our gold back! The assault on London will begin next turn perhaps, as we need to get all our ducks in a row.
4) 1255 AD- Spain wants an MPP, I guess Isabella is fealing nervous with France in the area. We must decline at this point. I watched as Spain threw about a dozen Cavalry at London and didn't so much as kill one riflemen. This is going to be a hard city to capture. Fortunately, they retreated most of the time so as not to induce many promotions. I'm going to try and build some more trebuchets so we can bombard the hell out of them
5) 1260 AD- Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

6) 1265 AD- Nottingham flipped back to the English and Spain managed to take out two rifleman in London, there's still plenty left though.
7) 1270 AD- zzzzzzzzzzz.
8) 1275 AD- Zzzzzzzzzzzz
9) 1280 AD- We renew our ROP with Spain. Spain, though will not give us anything for our Ivory. A British Guerilla nearly destroys one of our Longbow armys, I've sent it back to Canterbury to recover.
10) 1285 AD- The Spanish have retaken Nottingham and also have destroyed a London Rifle.
11) 1290 AD- France builds the Theory of Evolution. We should be ready to attack next turn or the turn after, London is being weakened more and more each turn.
12) 1295 AD- Spain destroyed 3 conscript Rifle in London.
13) 1300 AD- Spain gets 2 more rifle in London. It's time. Our 5 Trebuchet bombard and 3 of them hit. 1st Longbow army destroys damage losing no hp. Woohoo!!!! The Army attacks a Rifle again, and is victorious. The second longbow army attacks Rifle and is victorious, losing a couple hp. I'm going to hold off and let some of the Cavalry attack first. 1st Cavalry defeats conscript rifle. 2nd Cavalry defeats conscript Rifle. 3rd Cavalry defeats conscript rifle. 4th Cavalry retreats. 5th Cavalry is destroyed by conscript rifle. 6th Cavalry destroys conscript rifle. 7th Cavalry destroys conscript rifle. LONDON HAS FALLEN!!!!!!! Holy Cow! We now control the Pyramids, the Great Lighthouse, The Great Library, Shakespears Theatre, Smiths Trading Company and Knights Templar. That's a whole lotta gold there! We will be getting Astronomy in 3 turns, so we're going to hold off until making peace so we can get something for more value.
14) 1305 AD- Zzzzzzzzzz
15) 1310 AD- England and Spain make peace. Could this spell trouble for us? Knights Templar has produced a crusader! Woot! We trade our Ivory to Spain for Furs and 160 gp. We have established an embassy in Paris for 76 gp.

16) 1315 AD- France declared war on Spain. This should be good! France captures Nottingham. We have discovered Astronomy. In exchange for Peace and 4gpt we get Physics and Printing Press. Unfortunately, we couldn't haggle Magnetism or Theory of Gravity off them, so we've got 7 turns to Magnetism and 7 to ToG. The good news is we're researching at 70 percent.
17) 1320 AD- ZZZZZZZZZZzz
18) 1325 AD- we renewed our Incense for Spices deal with the French.
19) 1330 AD- zzzzzzzzzzz
20) 1335 AD- France wants our territory map and 19 gp. It is a modest request, and we give in.

Take her away.

We acheived our main goal of this session in getting London, however we have a lot of work to do. After getting London, I switched our focus to Banks, to get our monies up, we're going to need that if we want to build a bigger army and keep up our research. The first banks will be ready over the next couple of turns. Then, I think we should go back to building up our Cavalry forces and make war with Spain. Compared to them we have an average army, but compared to France we have a weak army. Plus Spain has Infantry. We're going to have to move fast though because France is starting to head into Spain. Unfortunately, I couldn't get us out of the Middle Ages, but we only have one and a half techs left. Our ROP with Spain ends in 8 turns and our most recent deal with them ends in 15 turns, if you so desire to be honourable, 15 turns should allow you enough time to build up our forces so we can march on Spain before France can do any serious damage over there. Good Luck!

OK, lets start operation, go for a win.

1. 1340: Continuing the infastructure build-up, and planning to settle some English lands.

2. 1345:

3. 1350: We discover Magnitism, Theory of Gravity in 7 turns.

4. 1355: Founded Riverton.

5. 1360: The French are getting close to the Spanish boarder, it might be time to make our move.

6. 1365:

7. 1370: The French are moving their troops in a fasion that would suggest they want to attack us . I don't know, but moving 12 infantry up to Utopia smells of something bad. I'm going to have to go after the Spanish and hope they change the French change their minds.

The Battle of Izmit begins, it takes 7 Calvalry and our two armies to destroy 2 rifflemen and 6 Musketmen. Not a great catch, but the city was once ours, and it is again.

Founded Endor

8. 1375: The Battle of Santiago is about to begin. I move all our Trutbaches and Cavalry to the lines.

Izmit has been recaptured by the Spanish, only to be captured by the French the next turn.

9. 1380: The Battle of Santiago: Our Trubshes bombard and hit 3 Rifflemen. Our Army takes out one Riffleman, but suffers heavy damage. Our next 4 cavalry take out 4 Rifflemen, and a Longbow finishes the job taking out a cavalry and the city of Santiago is now ours.

10. 1385: We have entered a new age, we will have Steam Power in 10 turns.

Our troops line the hills on Munich, next turn the city shall fall.

11. 1390: The bombarding of Munich has taken 4 hp away from 4 different rifflemen, and with the last riffle still protecting the front lines of the city, there is a good chance those are the only 4 in the city. Our Amrny easily takes out 2 riffles, Our cavalry have no trouble taking out the rest.

I move 12 Cavalry and an army in striking range of Zaragoza, a size 12 spanish city.

I also spot the first bomber of the game being used by the French.

12. 1395: Our army makes short work of an elite Rifleman in Zaragota, and our Cavalray make short work of the remaining two riffles. Zaragota is ours.

France and Spain sign peace .

13. 1400: The Battle of Salamanca begins, in short, we took it with ease.

14. 1410: Our Cavalry take Valencia with some major injuries, but all healable. We move our artillary units, and army, and a cavalry to Madrid, next turn its ours.

15. 1415: The battle of Madrid has started, we keep taking the troops down, but can't seem to get the city

16. 1420: Another unsucessfull campain against Madrid.

17. 1425: I keep taking out tones of soldiers in Madrid, but they always seem to have more.

18. 1430: We finally get madrid with our army at 2 hp attacking a riffleman with 1hp. It was the last move I could have made, and I thought forsure we would lose the army, but Madrid it ours.

19. 1435: We discover steam Power, Industrialization in 9 turns.

20. 1440: OK, I have a force on Seville, ready to strike. If we get this city, we should have the Iron resource, (we may need to use a worker slave to build a colony) which means we can finaly build Rail. But we also need a bunch more workers to get them up asap. i would recommend taking the Spanish right out of the game to avoid any culture flips. The French are 10 times as powerful as us, but if we can hold on, we might still win. They are ages away from a space race win, and we are near infantry, so we could build a nice deffencive force.

Your Turn, Take her away.

Start: 1440 AD.

Industrialization in 8 turns. We are now at war with Spain

1) 1440 AD- WAHOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Our Trebuchet and Cannon take some damage off of Seville defenders and our first Elite Cavalry produces an MGL. May I present Dirck Hartog! Wahoooooooooo!!!!!! We are unable to take Seville though, due to Insufficient Cavalry in the area. I've sent more to the front lines, we shall conquer next turn.
2) 1445 AD- Seville has fallon. Along with it come a new shiny Cannon and four worker/slaves. One of those slaves has built a colony on the Iron. We can now build railroads, my lord! I new era of Utopian Dominance is set to begin. I'm rather tempted to use our MGL to rush the Military Academy, I'm just not sure which would be the right city. Barcelona is next.
3) 1450 AD- GD Bastards!!!! Santiago has rebelled. Sweet revenge this will be.
4) 1455 AD- ZZZZZZZZ
5) 1460 AD- The Damn Spanish Guerilla has overrun the protectors of our Iron Colony. The bastards. Grrrrrrrr

6) 1465 AD- More forces have been sent to Santiago. It's proving more difficult to take than I could have ever imagined.
7) 1470 AD- ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
8) 1475 AD- After watching an Elite Cavalry be defeated by a conscript Rifleman (WTF???) Santiago has been captured and burned to the grown. A new city, Resilience has been built in it's place. With soooo many Wheat and Floodplains near this city, it will serve as our nation's primary Worker factory. Just gotta get the Production up a bit. I've decided to send out MGL to Riverton to rush our FP there. The Military academy can wait. Industrialization next turn! Yes!
9) 1480 AD- Industrialization discovered. Factory Production initiated in several cities. Electricity along the path to replacable parts is next. The bastard guerilla destroyed the Iron Colony again. This time I am guarding it with a Longbow Army. With Santiago out of the way, it's time to move on the Spanish Capital city of Barcelona.
10) 1485 AD- Forbidden Palace built in Riverton. Here Here!

11) 1490 AD- GAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Seville has rebelled. Fortunately it was AFTER I had moved our attack force out, otherwise we'd be really screwed. We all know what happens to cities that Rebel. Fort Dune is building a Settler to remedy the problem immediately.
Seville has been recaptured. I'm keeping it around long enough for our settler to arrive, lest the French build a city on site and steal our iron, then, Seville will be no more.
12) 1495 AD- ZZZZZzzzzzz
13) 1500 AD- Zzzzzzzzzz
14) 1505 AD- Zzzzzzzzzz
15) 1510 AD- Oh Crap! France wants our Maps and 41 gpt. We kindly oblige her. As promised, Seville has been abandoned. Bravado has been built in it's place.

16) 1515 AD- It took nearly all of our attack force, but Barcelona has been liberated. It's going to tak a couple turns to recover, but Spain has but one city. Hoo-AH! For what it's worth we now have all 8 luxuries! .
17) 1520 AD- ZZZZZZZZZZzz
18) 1525 AD- Electricity next turn. science slider at 10 percent. 393 gpt. Factory rushed in Utopia. 540 gp.
19) 1530 AD- Electricity discovered. Replacable parts in 9 turns.
20) 1535 AD- Another Spanish Rebillion, this time in Barcelona. It has been quelled somewhat, I'm keeping it around until our next settlers, being mobilized in Fort Dune, are ready to make the trek. You can do with it what you wish.

Take her away.

We should be able to go after Toledo after our Cavalry heal. What with all our bombardment forces and Longbow army, we should be able to take the city. And then we must deal with France. After I saved the game, I demanded all French troops be removed from our territory or declare war. Joan actually complied. Compared to they, are military is weak, so it's up to you if you want to carry this out or not. Just one more tidbit of information that might be helpful.

I demand the French leave our territory , they oblige.
I fortify troops along york to new castle so the French can not enter our homeland, nor fortfy there eastern flank.

1. 1540: Our troops move towards the last Spanish strong hold.

2. 1545: The French have started Hoover Dam. Our Armies have reached the gates of Toledo.

3. 1550: I make peace with Spain for medicine. Our Army starts the attack with a barage of arrows the spanish have never seen. Two rifles are killed, but they do a good number on our Army, and it must rest. Our second army attacks and takes the last riffleman, rather anti clamiatic, but the city is now ours. However, the spanish managed to get two frigates and a Galleon out of the city the turn prior, so their people live on. I guess they forgot to put a settler in it, WAHOOO.

Founded Cannabis Plains

4. 1555: Lauwersoog founded.

5. 1560: Founded Mount Doom.

6. 1565: Infastructure YA!

7. 1570: Replacable parts in 1 turn, science droped to 50% netting 165gold. I renegotiated our deal with france and scored an extra 20gpt.

8. 1575: We have discovered replacable parts and have two sources of rubber. I'm starting Sanitation so we can grow.

9. 1580:

10. 1585:

11. 1590:

12. 1595: Utopia builds the Military Acadamy, Wahoo!

13. 1600:

14. 1605:

15. 1610: Sanitation in 1 turn, Science droped to 20% netting 360gold.

16. 1615: Discovered sanitation, started Democracy.

17. 1620: Amsterdam builds the Palace.

18. 1625:

19. 1630:

20. 1635: Saved and sent.

Honestly, we are in survival mode. Our infastructure is being built fast, and we should be able to build a nice infantry army soon. I also went for democracy, I don't think we plan on attacking =France for some time, so if you wanna switch and get the huge commerce and production bonuses, that might help ten fold. Our land is almost complete aswell, so we could also use the slaves to get some of our cities larger. Check it al out. here is the save:

8) 1675 AD- Zzzzzzzzzzzz
9) 1680 AD- A Utopian Democracy has been established. HOO-RAH!
10) 1685 AD- France desires and MPP and ROP. For what, I'm not quite sure? Englands two island cities? I figure this will keep them off our backs for a while, so I accept.

11) 1690 AD-Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
12) 1695 AD- ZZZZZzzzzzz
13) 1700 AD- Science Slider set to 10 percent in anticipation of Corporation, netting us 629 gp next turn.

15) 1710 AD- The French have built Manhattans project. The French are building the Internet. It would seem we are beginning to run out of time.

16) 1715 AD- We build an army. I'm not sure what to do with him at this point, so I've sent him to the fortress with all the cannons and whatnot. I've also started another.
17) 1720 AD- ZZZZZZZZZZzz
18) 1725 AD- France has built the United Nation. I'd imagine the game could end at any time now. We have gifted Sanitation and some of our excess luxures and resources to England.

19) 1730 AD- Zzzzzzzzzzz
20) 1735 AD- ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

Take her away.

I've got nearly all our rail network completed. I've got Stock Exchanges built in several of our cities, so they can be dedicated to the Military Complex now. We're fast running outta time though, as France is starting to pile up the Modern Era wonders. No UN election was held, so I'm assuming that means we woulda won... not that that helps us now. I've started building Artillery, we're going to need hordes of them if we're going to penetrate the Frence borders. That is to say, if they do not nuke us first... Refining in two turns.

I used this save point (the turn after the French invasion), and just retired to get the score in the Hall of Fame. Not nearly as high of a score as our last game, but a score non the less.

Here's the save.
