...and after several months of not playing, I decide not to bother trying to resist temptation, as we all know it's no good even trying.

Evenafter all this time, the "Play Last World" option was there. Nah, I'll start a new one.

70% Continents, sure, why not, not going to change anything. Level: Monarch. Well... figure might as well get right back into it. Tribe: had been set to Random, alright, works for me.

I draw the Bab's. Woohoo! Who's on my land? Greece, Germany, and Russia. 3 OTHER Scientific Civs. There goes that advantage.

Russia gets ganged up on and out they go. I'm behind several techs, at least 6, and I decideto go for Lit, and pop a SGL! It's good to be back. Rush Artemis and start pushing my borders. It's a building phase of the game, relative peace and calm.

Fast forward to 1260 AD: My caravel finally makes it across the oceans. Who do I meet first? Shaka. They're looking for Mysticism, Code of Laws and the like. Lovely. They DO have communications with the Dutch, and from there everyone meets everyone else and from being a tech or three behind, I'm even after trading, and Greece, the Dutch and I hit the Industrial Era even.

By now, Germany is down to Berlin after numerous long wars with Greece. Getting Templar, Magellans and a few other WoW's, at least in my opinion, warrants a sneak attack to prevent them from falling into the hands of the Greeks.

Another time of peace, with minor wars on my part against Egypt and Rome.

I get Flight and yet another SGL!. I decide to save him.

Going into the Modern Times, it's me, Greece and the Dutch, all basically even. I trade Tankies to Alexander and he gets Fission, which I trade him Rocketry and Computers for. Here comes the UN. Start buttering up Zulu's (in the early Middle Ages), and the Vikes and Egypt (both in the mid Industrial Ages).

Build the UN and poof... there it is, a win first game back. Scoe was only in the 2300's but hey... can only go up!!!

_MY_ first game back after not playing for weeks, _I_ started on Emperor *sticks out tongue juvenilely*

Heh heh, sounds like a good go Shadowkat! I'm not having that much luck with my Emperor level game using Seared and AMP's dense Feudal state approach. We'll see if I can pull off a win being about half an era behind :p

Uhhhn, you rookies, and your EASY games... You should see [purple]me[/purple] sweating and swearing over my dummygod game... *beats chest* (*then coughs because there's a thick, 3-weeks-old layer of smog hovering over the valley*)

It's the only way to get the UN, I think, with a Leader... So hateful to have to wait for it, and keep on praying they don't team up on you at the last moment... Glad to see you ignored my warning...

I'm downloading a bunch of games right now, and yours is among them, Scipio... Your handiwork shall be closely examined, as I'm also trying that selfsame Feudal state approach... I do hate being behind in techies though...

Hmmm... maybe I should dig out my disc and get a game up and running!

Not sure whether to come back in on Regent or Monarch!

When I'm going on Hiatus (which is all it ever is with Civ), I always leave the last game unfinished/unwon. When I come back ... I've got a game to finish up ... which allows me to become re-aquainted mid-game and be ready for the new one coming. ;-)

It only took about 10 turns with my still unfinished Celtics game for it to become painfully obvious that it was gonna be one of those tedious to the bitter end games. Still haven't finished but who knows!

I took a look at the .sav and must say I do not at all envy you... One thing I noticed was that you don't have a ton of culture, which I think a Religious civ always should have... Another thing, I would build Gallic Swordsmen only in cities with Barracks... Let the rest build Spearmen... One last thing, why were you researching Polytheism at 10%? No wonder you are behind...

If you continue this game, I hope you'll upload another .sav... Seems like an uphill battle to me...
