Particulars

Mayans
Dropped back to Emperor to make a shorter quicker game.
9 civs.
Map: Huge, Pangaea 60% water, Wet, Warm, 5 Billion Years.
Accelerated Production
More aggressive Civ's.
Restless Barbs.

In the beginning the outcasts, led by the first mother Luzon, arrived at the foot of the shining mountains. The arid land was hard, hot in summer and cold in winter. The water was sweet and had many fish and the people could grow pumpkins, corn and squash. The mountains had game and the people had meat. Here Luzon built the First Wickiup and the people stayed.

Nearby were a people who called themselves Navajo and they created a home they called Rivers Bend. For 250 years the like hearted people prospered sending scouting bands of warriors north and south.

The people sent out more young men to scout our lands. A people called Cherokee were found to have bad hearts. Our young men forced them to leave our lands, and in the south red dyes are found.

In the year 3250 First Wickiup grew crowded and many of the people moved away to form their own home, which they called Red Dyes. And once again the young men had to chase away the Cherokee. 50 years later some people from Rivers Bend moved away to live near the Yellow Metal found in the nearby mountains. This year is also remembered as the year that Big Hands had the vision of the alphabet. He then began a quest for a vision on how to use this new knowledge.

By the year 3000, In the north many beaver were found to live, and to the west silk worms were found, this is a good land in which to live. In the south a people who call themselves the Egyptians are found to live. They are a poor and backward people but we trade them the secrets of pottery for ceremonial burial. and a tribe called the Inuit teach us the art of working with bronze.
We have four towns four tech's and have completed a road to the dyes, and so it was for the first 1000 years.

I'm dissapointed that they removed the Iroqious as a civ in Civ 4. They didn't include any North American Indians.

Sorry back to the story.

Talk about luck, Tosk! Not only do you land in a very nice starting spot, but you manage to get a settler from a goddie hut! Gotta love games like that!

Pulls up another chair, sits next to the vituperator, and the port-o-potty, and waits to hear more.

One of the reasons I decided to try a story, not many games start this well.
Need to go take a nap so here is part 2 it just keeps getting better, this may be one of my all time best games.

*****

The people are crying, there are not enough workers to build the roads and tend the crops so our Chiefs asked each village to send more workers. We meet a people to the north who call themselves Vikings. The Egyptian people send us slaves 10 gold and masonry for the wonders of the alphabet, the Vikings sell us the warrior code and Mysticism for masonry, pottery and 10 gold. Our War Chief now begin to train the young men to fight with the spear and the javelin.
In the year 2630 we learned to use the alphabet to make writing and the great leader Ah Cacao was born.
One of out scout bands was rubbed out by a tribe who called themselves Lupaca, our women wail and cut their hair.
There is peace and good hunting in the land, the villages of Silk Worm, Two Mountains, and Many Beavers are settled.
In the year 2350 the people learn the secrets of Philosophy and Map Making the Egyptians and Vikings trade Iron Working and The Wheel along with 50 gold and slaves for writing. Our lands hold no horses or iron. Settlers are sent into the jungles to the south where iron may be mined.
Far to the west the Lupaca are defeated and the enemy Cherokee give us the secrets of Code of Laws and smoke the peace pipe with our great chief.
The year 2150 is known by the people as the year of tears, as barbarians kill many of the young men and pillage many villages. In the end they are all driven away and thanks are offered to Wan-Kan-Ta for restoring the great circle of life to a time of peace.
In the northwest we meet a people who call themselves Spanish they are a backward people but know things we do not know. In counsel with the three nations we receive Literature, Horseback Riding, Polytheism 35 gold and slaves for things we know or pass on.
The secret of Mathematics are discovered in the year 2070.
The villages of Sweet River, Iron Hill, Great Water and Three Peaks are settled.
In the far west the Lupaca people destroy another scout band and the Chinook tribe give us people to form a new band of scouts. Embasys are established with our neighbors. A road is made to Silk Worm.
And so ends the second thousand years of the people's history. Nine villages make us the largest of the known world.
