In my opinion the production advantage of AI players concerning the construction of great wonders on the highest levels should be handicaped, because it disturbs the gameplay.

It makes the feature of wonder race inaccesible to you, because no matter how good you are, on Deity and Sid you can't construct any great wonder in ancient times, if you don't have a leader accidentaly available. Though you can win through other measures, it makes the game poorer. The difficulity could be trimmed by many other measures, am I right?

Moreover I think that all civs should get some little production bonuses when constructing wonders that corespond to thier traits. This would prevent situation where the two-three biggest civs can grab all the wonders of the world without much effort in later game.

although I agree with what you are saying I have managed to get the Great Library on Sid 16 civ huge map, without a GSL... Its possible because the domino effect doesn't happen. The wonders are completed as somebody goes for the next tech... if you play it right the wonders can be had, you just have to really use your prebuilds, and attack the tech tree for the one you want. When I managed the build of the Library, I was one turn from a grainery when I got lit, and changed, the prebuild was that close. I think it is an ok part of the more difficult games... Sid level was not really meant for epic games, but for the conquests where you have a base of units, towns already in existance and you have to play the game...

addit:IMHO...Your not a great Civ player until you learn how to beat the game without worrying over a wonder... you don't need them to win...

I exactly know how to win without wonders. I don't bother to build them at all without a GSL, because the risk of losing all the shields is to high and unworthy. I thought only that the game would be more interesting, if you could have a real chance of constructing a wonder.

I just think that a high level AI should try to imitate a good human player.

I've gotten the Massoleum and the Great Library in a Diety game in the past...  It's a bit of a struggle and you need to be lucky.  The only time it's possible is on an island map, simply because the AI's don't gain contacts right away and don't trade (which catapults them well beyond your level).
