I will post in public what I said in private: I agree with jerm's idea. The game, to be fun and keep everyone's interest, requires not just generals, but diplomats. If people can't / won't correspond -- for whatever reason -- then they shouldn't play. That sounds mean-spirited, probably, but it's not intended that way -- just a statement of fact. If we can start up an ad hoc D4 made up of survivors from D3 and elsewhere who have good track records, methinks the game would be more enjoyable and challenging. Right now people are winning handily because they have no opponents, or, at the very least, sporadic ones. Heck, I'm taking chances I'd never do in a PBM game because I'm assuming "no one's at the wheel" on my borders. (I'm in for a quick death if that ever proves itself wrong.) So yes, Jerm's recommendation is 100% spot-on, IMO. And hey -- " HOW 'BOUT THEM STEELERS ?! "

-Arrrg, ye mateys. First off, the Chatterbox thread is there for a reason and the Q & A thread is there for a reason as well. For posts such as the two above the Chatterbox thread is to be used. Shame on you! Shame on you all  ! -As for my situation, the network card drivers on my computer have been deleted and I am having some difficulty getting new ones(So to speak). I hope I'll get them at the end of this weekend, I have someone on it. I can now get online perhaps a few days a week, though it's not stable enough for me to join in on any games right now. -Now, as for the "discussion" in the above posts, I agree completely. The Diplomacy PBEM requires stable players and involvement in the game and so if players in a game are erratic and without much involvement they should be switched out and if it becomes a recurring issue and it interrupts the gameplay the game should be shut down and a new game should be started with the more stable players. This is of course up to the judge and he/she should not be afraid to make such decisions. -And remember, when in doubt...... do something stupid .
