To get things started, I tried to keep things simple and slow down the pace some. This should give us all a good starter game to get into the swing of things.

When you complete the game, please post victory condition and final score. Feel free to attach your finished game and post any screen shots you have.

Map: Terra (Resembles Earth)

World Size: Standard

Civilization: America

Leader: Roosevelt

Difficulty: Settler

Game Speed: Epic

I'm just finishing running the tut, and were thinking about gotms? Addit: downloaded, and it will be my first real game...

Never too early to get started. Most will be receiving their games over the next few days -- this is a good chance to see how our scores are compared to a game months down the road... S

Alrightie... 1375 AD conquest victory-score 52643, with a game score of 2694 ... but I can't say it was in the spirit of GOTMs, I was at war with three civs, it crashed to desktop no error message, stayed in game resolution, and forced me to reboot to change back to my default desktop, and the Autosave was three or four turns back, right before I had tactically errored with some archers, and I'm sure the replay changed the tide of the game some (very little, but in fairness my score doesn't count...) There is something funny with the scoring I think. Addit2: I now see in the high score table a second score (game score) which is more in line, but which is more important? What is the difference? Addit: that reminds me, Somebody have a copy of the GOTM rules? I noticed when you watch the historgraph replay it says what year it is when you start a new session... I'm sure many of y'all will have many many many games completed by the end of October. yup, I got 4 wins in the table... hehehe The game can perform much faster than civ3, and playing "easy" to learn the new stuff makes it even faster.

Had a couple hours today. Could have beat it quicker probably but I didnt notice it was a settler game until after a little while.

Conquest victory, 1615 ad, final score 49827

I tried for a cultural win too. Not sure how many points you need but I had three cities all in the 10K range. I had just about every great wonder I could build in those three. I like the conquest movie the best so far (Ive seen the space race and the domination movies as well).

Er, Settler is a bit easy isn't it? Can I suggest a new GOTM, maybe December brought forward, at say Prince level.
