"Seed" is an option when starting a new game to use a not-entirely-random map. What I mean by that is that when you start a new game, on the map creation page, there is a box at the top where you can enter text (or numbers if you like). The map is generated, and the game plays like normal. Now, if for some reason, you wanted to play that map again, you could put the same text/numbers in the box, and it will give you the exact same map. Although, you have to be careful not to mess anything up (all the climate settings, world size, #of civs (esp seafaring civs), etc.), or the map/starting locations won't be the same. In this case I think (or rather, hope ) that the seeds being chosen haven't been peeked at by anyone beforehand, because then they would know the map before it was even explored, giving them an advantage. But to those of us who don't cheat ( ), the maps are completely random. Does that answer your question?

But the liberals should be careful of screaming too loud ... of conspiring too well ... of undermining us too thoroughly. Because if they succeed, if they do get what they insist they want, then the result may well be something they never conceived ... ahh, i see, so my typing in "that70ssho" is pretty meaningless, as it's not the exact same game as is being done in the GOTM's... Actually, if you had all the options exactly the same, you should end up with the exact same game. Only thing is, I don't think most GOTMs reveal who the rival civs are, or in what order they're listed, so that might screw things up. But assuming I'm wrong, you shouldn't have to dl the save if you really didn't want to.
