I was playing a game of cIV I think it was on fantasy or something and look!

Definitely a memory issue. RAM or video card. It may be result of the mod you are playing.

It's a memory issue.

I have sometimes had the terrain colors reverse like that, in the later parts of games on huge maps. The game will continue to run, but extremely (unplayably) slowly.

If you close the game and reopen, it returns to normal. It never happens to me in the earyl game or on "large" or smaller maps

The "fantasy" setting is an option under "Custom Game". I'm not sure yet what the difference is between fantasy and other maps, but this off map coloration is an error, not a feature.

fantasy map is mostly land, and it messes with the resources and where theyre placed, so you might find wheat in a forest or stuff like that
