Okay, here are some of the options we can choose: Variants Standard-The origional game we are all used to playing. 1898-the same rules and map as Standard but the game begins in 1898 with each power with only one province. Fleet Rome-Exactly the same as Standard but Italy starts with a fleet in Rome instead of an army Shift Around, Shift Left, Shift Right-Same rules and map as standard but you start in another power's Home centers. You can only build in your own home centers so you have to gain yours back before you can build while trying to keep hold of as many of the origional centers you started with. I'm playing a Shift Around game and it's actually quite fun. Crowded-All the neutral centers are divided up into 4 extra powers (ie. Balkins is a power, etc.). Needs 11 players though. Chaos-this one's probably out of the question since each province is a different power. Yes you need 34 players. I've played this one and it's not as fun unless you are one of the successful ones. Modern-This one is a different modernized map of Europe and you need 10 players. Ancient-Uses a different map based on ancient powers and only has 5 players. Hundred-A simulation of the Hundred Years War. Only Three players so we'd have to split it up to at least three games. Different map as well. Sail Ho-A totally different fictional map with only four players. Same rules as Standard though. Deadlines I like the 24:72:24:72:24 we have now. Let me know if anyone objects to them. Personally I'd like a shorter grace period though like 12 hours instead of 24. One thing we can do is set the game to just continue after the grace period so that whoever doesn't submit orders just NMR's (holds all units). We can also make it so that deadlines won't fall on certain days like the weekends. Press Options We can select options that allow only gray or white press or even just broadcast or none. I say we stick to the status quo though. We can also say no press on retreats or builds but I'd be against these options since we can still contact each other here. That's really about it other than allowing a preference list and creating a locked game that only named players can join. I'd like to hear other's opinions on what they'd like to do so speak up.
