Kamikazi?  Why does being invisible make it kamikazi infantry (assuming there is such a thing, I only ever heard of the plane ones...)?

I suppose kamikaze infantry would be a suicide bomber that targeted enemy troops.   They have been used before, Vietnam for instance.  Where a VC strapped with explosives would run past the front lines and try to blow himself up at a command post.  You can see a movie example of this in Platoon.

Kamakazi means "divine wind", and the wind is invisible.

Just so you know the correct romanization is kamikaze.  The reason kamikazes where called such was because they where supposed to save Japan from invasion just like the massive typhoon in 1281 that wiped out the Mongel fleet did.  It has nothing to do with being like the wind.  I also should note that not all Japanese kamikaze attacks where by plane.  There are records of them using boats or soldiers on foot laden with explosives.

That's interesting Dd; I didn't know that they used anything other than planes.  Guess it takes a Marine to really know the details of that war, huh?

That and having a Japanese wife.  I saw some details in some History Channel shows.  Here are some wiki links for some basic info.

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamikaze

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Special_Attack_Units

This line is here because the site continued to error stating that I could not only post links but had to post text even though there is clearly text above the links.
