| So we should not use Warlords because you don't have it? Warlords is progress, it is moving forward, it's a better brand of Civ4 (not to mention it's been out for several months now), and we should reflect on that in the D-game.
It's not just about MY not having it, it's about me AND potentially many others who feel similarly. I'm sure Warlords is better, but if it is not good enough to make me want to buy it so I can play it myself (and from all I've read, it isn't), then I'm not going to buy it simply to participate in a dgame. Again, I'm sure I'm not the only one to feel this way, and if I thought it was just me, I wouldn't bother voicing it. Here's another thought: We're still struggling to get interest in the dgame here. Are you going to narrow the audience yet further by making the game use Warlords? I'm not saying we should stick with vanilla forever, but maybe our first game should be with vanilla simply to make sure we have enough interest before trimming away at the edges of the crowd: those who don't have the expansion |

But the liberals should be careful of screaming too loud ... of conspiring too well ... of undermining us too thoroughly. Because if they succeed, if they do get what they insist they want, then the result may well be something they never conceived ... "They have made a desolation, and they call it peace." ~Tacitus~ ... but a peace controlled by our former enemies. --Tosk

| Welp, I have no quarrels with whichever version of the game is used. However, I believe January is best to actually start off things in regard to system contsruction also... was just throwing my two cents out before hand. Bleh, enough talk, I'll be on way to the voting booth now.
One other note: I think you're right, Jerm. Perhaps the only real reason Noitazilivic or Civilized even began to exist, was due to the lack of any DGame here. Bringing the game back over this way, would do more to balance things back to the 1BC side of the fence. I mean, considering the Civilized membership base is probably 90% 1BC members.
Also, DGames are probably the only thing that keep me coming to Civilization sites, so there's another point I can agree on. |

Funny thing is Psweet, I don't feel that Civ4 is a terrible game at all, so I can't relate. To be honest, at first I was playing Civ3 and Civ4 about equally after 4 came out, but after playing Civ4 Warlords for several months, Civ3 seems kind of lame to me.
We already have one D-game with Vanilla (offsite) and you must remember, D-games are a long term deal. By the time we finish up this one, who knows where we will be at.
Warlords is the way to go, simply because it's just a better game. |
