Maybe we should have a poll that reads as follows:

Do you have Warlords?

-yes
-no
-no but I plan to get it
-yes but I plan to put it in the shredder

Addit: 13 votes ain't bad.  I'd still like to see more though.

I have yet to purchase Warlords but I guess could be persuaded to buy it. Also, here's some news: We've already passed the Civilized numbers in this poll. Good signs, in my opinion.

Warlords is not quite as much of a change around as was C3C to Vanilla C3, but it is an improvement. The scenarios are the funnest part for me.

Peloponesian War, Alexander the Great, these two are quite good. Have not had a chance to play the others yet. Very much unit-focused strategy sorts of scenarios, with alternate tech trees, alternate units, etc. Haven't finished either one yet, but have games incipient for both. The warlords scenarios at least show the potential of the Civ4 engine for making really fun historically-derived scenarios.

Is it comparable to Play the World?  I had been hoping to hold out for when the second expansion pack came out but if we get a Dgame Warlords, I guess I'll have to pay for both.  DOH!

No I would say it is more akin to Conquests WITHOUT as much of the extra civs as you got in PTW.

There are some new buildings, some new civs, some scenarios, and some new "rules" and units (including IIRC, some new promotions). However, there are not as many new civs as in PTW, and about the same amount of rule and stuff changes as in Conquests.

I'm hoping that the third edition of Civ4 will primarily be focused on providing a modder's kit, and I have the sense that this is what they claimed it would be. So my sense is that there will not be a third pack that expands on Warlords akin to the way Conquests expanded on PTW.

Warlords adds enough to the game to be worth it.

Yeah, this is my only *** about it so far. Conquests was great but I had already made several great mods that were pretty close by the time it came out. Unless you're proficient at writing in xml, you can't mess with cIV at all. WTF
I need to modify the way these "neutral" neighbors of mine keep giving my distant enemies right of passage. I keep these clown from doing hit-n-run strikes along my border unless I give my semi-friendly neighbor the right to drive his tanks up to my capitol city and just park there???
Yeah, right. I can just imagine Poland letting Germany do that to attack Russia...
I digress a little. We need a mod program.

Thanks for the welcome, jerm.
