I voted either. I'm not sure what the conclusions of this poll will indicate, but I think this poll is slightly biased towards Vanilla if you consider all the factors...But if we want to be more inclusive Vanilla is the way to go. If we want to use the more advanced game Warlords is the way to go. Regardless, I've realized that with the other D-game going on at Civilzied and me being in the home stretch of my graduate studies I won't be participating in this one much at all, so from a personal standpoint it doesn't matter to me much at all!

Biased, LC? Biased? How is it biased? Pre-disposed to a certain outcome, yes, but that's not because of bias in the poll.

Voted either. The reasoning? I'm sitting on a brand new CivIV while I figure out how best to upgrade memory on my Dell Optiplex GX150. I read your post on Dell after getting a Dell Scipio. Since I havn't played it yet , I could only go on the fact that I trust the game, as a whole, that no matter what, it'll be interesting.

When it comes down to it, I'll participate with either. Especially if we go with the constitution that is proposed at the moment. In that government, the only individual that absolutely needs the correct version of the game is the President. It would help that a Senator have the correct version, too, when presented with requests from the President, but it would not be critical, especially as long as the President and/or other Senators provided enough information. Plus at some point, I do indeed plan to get Warlords. If we go with Warlords and it's some time before I buy that version, well, then there's always role play...which my friends over at Civilized will tell you I get into more, anyway!

Just bumping this because I think we're actually ready to begin. 23 votes! Even if we lose half, we're still in good shape. Something to note is that while the people who will only play with vanilla outweigh the people who will only play with warlords, the people who will play warlords beat out the people who will only play Vanilla by a margin of 2 to 1. We certainly could get by with the 16 who will play with Warlords. I'm kinda on the Warlords side now that I have the game. We could always have a link over to the Civlilzed game for those who want to be involved in a Vanilla game. Heck, I got into that game quite late so others could as well. So, I'll play with either but I'd prefer Warlords.

Warlords is the way to go, and with the traffic this site gets (as compared to Civilized) I'm sure the number will only grow as the game gets going. Warlords came out over a half a year ago, and to be honest, if they haven't picked it up since then, they don't deserve to be playing in some Civ4 D-game!

Let me just acknowlege that my bias is that Vanilla Civ4 is garbage compared to Warlords. I hate to be a tool of the market-tweaking game makers, but it is sadly true. They were smart. They saved the "real" game, i.e., the COMPLETE game for the "second game." Vanilla is nothing but Warlords without all the parts, and without the complete structure culminated. Did I mention that Warlords kicks Vanillas butt? Remember the last time you played Conquests? Maybe it was quite a while ago, but you probably remember don't ya. Okay, now ask yourself, when was the last time you played Vanilla Civ 3? Hopefully Warlords will not simply turn out to be the "Play the World" of Civ 4. Indeed, it seems rather to be the Conquests of Civ 4, and the Play the World of Civ 4 (with still more leaders, tribes, etc.) is likely yet to come out at some future stage . . . and even more woefully, AFTER and SEPARATELY from the modders pack . . . bastitches, diggin' in to our wallets repeatedly over a five or 7 year span . . .
