Kind of funny, considering the way you two first started out!

Scipio, you have my undying gratitude and respect everytime I see you in my corner!  Your support does help to validate this topic and the light hearted way it can be handled.  Much thanks to Psweet, and others who have shown a vote of confidence.

Question to all.  Should it be left to die?  Does this thread have enough GOOD potential to outway the bad it might generate?  Your thoughts please.

I won't post any further humor here until all who are effected (those who would stop in here) are heard.  I will let it fade away if that is the desire.

I could certainly use some decent humor, even visual humor I think is acceptable [perish the thought!]. Maybe you could find something making fun of Newt Gingrich, or Rush Limbaugh or something, and then we could extol Roadkill to find something poking fun at "humanists, I'll try to find something that pokes fun at academics, Locus can post something making fun of Generation Y, Rabi can find something poking fun at Israel, you know, kinda a round robin political satire thread?

EXACTLY!!

We need to have some fun at our own expenses.  I don't see that making us smaller or a lessoning of our positions.  Quite the contrary actually.  It shows strength, and unshaken belief in our causes.  While I may find humor in G. Bush, I believe he was the right leader at the right time.  But the guys human.  It keeps him human to have a little smile once and awhile at his human condition.  I do not belittle the consequences of his actions and mistakes.  But sitting around gnashing my teeth and wringing my hands over them would drive me crazy.

We're all human here.  We all have some silliness attatched to our hard core beliefs.  I find it interesting and extremely funny that man as an animal takes himself so seriously.  I'm wondering where we would be if we stopped laughing at our own condition?  When all is said, and all has been done, laughter is still the best medicine for curring the emotional damage we inflict on ourselves and one another.

We should look for the humor at ourselves as being human.  We are a family on this tiny little speck called Earth regardless of divisions.  If we can argue, we should then laugh.

I'm what most here would consider a redneck.  And pretty damned proud of it!  I live in a trailor park!  I drive an 88' Jeep Cherokee with aggresive tires.  My education goes beyond high school, but not much past Arch./Mech. Design and Engineering.  I even have a couch outside (waiting to be hauled away).  The "Cable Guy" is my hero!  I love making light of myself wherever possible.  And by doing so any outrage I might feel about something is lessoned to the point of remaining sane.  To a social degree.

I hope we come to a concensus soon, cause I gots me some mo redneck humor relating to P&R.

LMAOI'm Laughing at the two of you (B.O. and Scipo). Yes , the way you two started out and now in each others corner. Let's have coffee. LMAO and to be more of a redneck, I (myself ) Build these trailers. LMAO, I have a big Dodge Truck (hauling away couch wohoooo) LMAO. I just think that with all the talk that everyone does that everyone grows and the pictures is a good thing. Nothing should be taken to heart. If you can't make fun of your own culture then there is no sense of humor. My one girlfriend is a comedian, She lives in a little town of REDNECKS,and believe you me if they can stand being laughed at for for being REDNECK then everyone can stand a little laughter on there part. Everyone needs a GOOD LAUGH every now and then if no one laughs then live is a STUFF SHIRT.

Very good Rabi!  And thank you.

This is where you make a black & white choice (or green & white in this case) in Alabama.  It would be nice to conect the two into a booming town.  But the distance is still pretty vast.  Rhetorical question.  Which turn signal would you use?

Haha.... The difference in our styles and approaches Scipio.

I got the battle hardened thing. And I am military and appreciate the message in the humor.  When I was injured on one job or another I used humor to get thru it.  I had a compound fracture of the left tibula and fibula a few years ago.  I had the EM's rolling.   Even more so once I got the demoral injection.  Yeeehaaaa!
