I wonder if this would make it possible to have really, REALLY big maps?

Any idea which code sheet has the dimensions for the map sizes in it? It'd be neat to set up a mod with huge being about 50 or 100 times as big as it is right now, and see if this mod hekped run a random game with such a huge map. If so, it'd then be fun to make a proper Earth map at such a big scale.

I don't seem to have much of an issue right now running huge maps (though it is noticable it's not like I have to leave for 5 minutes).  Is AI gameplay the only thing it solves?  I'd be interested as well if making really huge maps is possible as well.

Jerm I cannot remember the numbers dang it . . . but hypothetically this is what I'm talking about.

In C3C you can create a map as big as you want in the editor. In Civ4, each size category has a specified dimension.

In Civ4 a "huge" map is about 150 x 80 tiles or in that ball park. There are C3C "huge" Earth maps that are more like 500 x 350. With a map like that, you can make a lot more interesting modern world scenarios.

So far they're having problems getting to work with any other mod, but its something everyone is trying to add, due to its obvious advantages.
