If I install custom units, will I be able to play with my friends online who have different assets?
I installed the Ethnically Diverse units, but when trying to join an online game, I had the tag *MOD* added to my name; We didn't even attempt to play.

Yes, you will be able to play online, but there's two things that occur to warm other players that you are doing this.  1 - MOD appears beside your name.  2 - in a game, there's a constant flashing banner indicating that you're using a mod.  This is because people can mod their assets, thereby cheatin/makign it unfair for others.
