Well, if they left in an option to make the game parameters open-ended, so if someone wanted a game map with the physical size the size of a small county at standard zoom, and a game duration of about two fortnights, for example, that might work...

im excited about this game coming out on the ds. Now i know it will never compare to civ on the PC but i warm to the idea of playing civ on the bus or in the car, and with a stylis like the ds has i think if done properly it could retain the feel of the PC version. I only hope thats the case. As for getting it for my xbox or my wii im not pushed if im at home and want to play civ ill play it on my pc.

i've been waiting for this a long time. It should have better online games, since my ps3 online works better than my laptop, and + the graphics will be great. Sid said that the best thing about working on the consoles is that you don't have to worry about having too many soldiers on the map, or moving parts, and worring it might make someones computer crash. ++He said they didn't have to hold back on explosions...can u immagine, mass nukes in high def. Masterpeice. lol.

Any way i don't like the idea  of "dumbing it down" but whatever. I can't wait to get it...that  and Tom CLancy's End War

While I probably will not play it (after all
when you have a PC.. why go console?), I think
this is a good thing.. Not all of the younger
generation has access to a computer that can
handle modern-day gaming. But, more than likely
they will be able to convince the parent to get
them a PS3 or Xbox 360. Once they see that
there are more cerebral games out there than
FPS... some will be hooked and want something
even deeper.

I say this.. because I was that person..
I played Warcraft II and Panzer General on
an original PS.. and Populous on a SNES..
and was absolutely delighted when I became an
adult and was able to spend more money on
better toys. I discovered SMAC.. then later
Civ 4 for the PC..

Plus, remember.. the leet kiddies some fear do
not have the patience for this sort of game..

Its a good thing.. even if "dumbed down".. It will still be

smarter than 90 percent of console offerings

LAMO!  So true!  I'm looking forward to this game for console since it might help me get some of my impatient and to lazy to learn cIV friends to get addicted to this series and the one more turn syndrome!
