I think, unofficially, that we should go to war to france. Such a war, would expand our borders, boost economy, eliminate a possible threat, and demonstrate to the whole world our might (i know that statement makes me sound like hitler), and make it possible to get to meet the last nation. i think it would be wise for the senators and the president, to hear our opinion, unofficially.

A war would be good but it is a tad too early i think to declare war. A task force should be established to

1 check french military strenght

2 designate which city's produce what soldiers, what roads to build, will we need another costal city to carry soldiers to france.

3 envisage our supply lines.

4 find what other civ's could be persuaded to join us

At this stage a war to capture their citys would be too costly but if we could damage their infastructure significantly it could weaken them enough to eliminate any threat that they might pose.

Saying that, the war should be planed but not implemented yet. We arent ready but it could be usefull to have a plan of operations to refer to and review in the very likely senario of a war with france. Also if they attack we would also be prepared.

Yes abosultly. French aggression cannot be tolerated for much longer. Their very presence is an insult to us, but we must bide our time.

Such a war, would expand our borders, boost economy, eliminate a possible threat, and demonstrate to the whole world our might,

It would expand our borders but it would strech our millitary to what i fear could be breaking point, i am convinced that a war so early could be detremental to us. Our economy would suffer with the cities we capture. the maintanence would effect our income and thus effecting our research. Wait for courthouses.

we have no seige weapons. We will need those especially for the capture of paris.

Grand General i am 100% behind you with the french being a nessesary casulaty but we should only be in the planning stages. Now is not the time for action. Lets plan our attack and wait until the timing is right.

nice poll. it will be intersting to see how many are with us and how many are with the french.

I am stunned by this poll. First of all we don't even have a city at the east coast. For a successful war we need to get decent supply lines to cities on the eastern coast. You can't just go to war just for the sake of it; we need to prepare it and the preparation often takes more time than the war itself. If you really want a war, the Egyptians are a bit closer to our capitol.

I would say no at this stage. Bolan is correct, we need a lot more preparation before considering a war.

I think we need to consolidate our continent somewhat and improve our naval and warfare techs before going to war with anyone.

This will all be addressed in the planning stages of war. Nobody in their right mind declares war with preparing for it. Now is the time to think about doing this. We dont need to build the city or the units yet, i am just suggesting that a comprehensive plan of action be drawn up against them.

You can't just go to war just for the sake of it; we need to prepare it and the preparation often takes more time than the war itself.

I know, and i want this preperation or at least a preliminary plan of conflict to comence now, highlight weak spots and choose our ground. Maybe a public vote to declare a member of the senate as a war minister, who can make these plans and show them to the goverment. who then vote on implementing them

If you really want a war, the Egyptians are a bit closer to our capitol.

yes egypt is closer and weaker but they would be a effective ally againt the aztecs. Plus we are currently trading alot of important techs with them. They are our ***es now and you dont hit women.
but saying that we should probably develop a martial plan of action against every nation. to be on the safe side.

tones... I will hereby invoke vC!!! (and by virtue of vC, the Powell Doctrine, derived, at least in part, from vonClausewitz's On War, itself.

I have a number of questions that all must be answered satisfactorily before I would consider voting yes. I don't intend to make this difficult or impossible, I just want to ensure that our nation is doing the correct thing for the correct reasons at the correct time.

Is a vital national security interest threatened?

Do we have a clear attainable objective?

Have the risks and costs been fully and frankly analyzed?

Have all other non-violent policy means been fully exhausted?

Is there a plausible exit strategy to avoid endless entanglement?

Have the consequences of our action been fully considered?

Is the action supported by the Citizenry of the nation?

Do we have genuine broad international support?

Answer me these questions, then, we may be ready for war. If you fail to answer these questions satisfactorily war will be an utter failure, setting us back centuries!

Get on with it!

There's nothing to gain from such at this point in time.

Best case scenario I see from such is,  we declare war and due to the minimal amount of troops we'd be able to pump into the French borders (in adequate time), the 'war' would simple come to French Galleys entering our borders and simply pillaging every fishing boat they manage to lay their vessels on.  Of course,  eventually,  peace would be delcared and we'd have our annoyed neighbor to the east and nothing gained.
