If I go to build a new unit, it will say "A rifleman is a gunpowder unit with a strength of 6" or some such.  That is the only time I see a units strength displayed at all in the game.  If I already built the rile and I forget what its strength is or if I see a sword of the enemies in my territory, I cant figure a way to click on the unit and determine the strength

well, on the XBox360 version you will see the combat odds and all the bonuses when starting a battle. It also gives the sign advantage above the unit with combat odds>50%.

I got this on DS the other day, as it was in the sale. Can't say it was that amazing. Pretty dumbed down really. Ok for a no-brainer afternoon, but that's about it.
