Pretty self explanatory I think.

After due consideration I have informed Mongoose that Team Omega would like to play ETHIOPIA in the forthcoming deathmatch, erm game.

What swung it was probably Zig who convinced me that maybe the Oromo wasn't such a useless unit after all, and maybe we could do something with it. The main reasons were:

It will probably surprise the opposition; it doesn't matter what sort of map we play on; the creative trait and its culture boost is enormously helpful - you don't have to have a religion, you don't have to build early culture-producing buildings and the defensive advantages are huge; the Organised trait saves 50% on upkeep which is arguably as good as Financial, and a lot less dependent on position; some of my favourite buildings (library, theatre, lighthouse, courthouse and others) are built double quick; we start with mining and hunting, both quite aggressive techs; the Stele gives a 25% culture boost (25%!); in my experience Ethiopia always seems to do well as an AI - in our hands it can only do even better.

I hope you can all live with this. I played trials as both Korea and Ethiopia, and the latter was just easier and that, frankly, has got to be an advantage especially against a human team.

Alright, Ethiopia is fine, so long as we don't get a food penalty!

some of my favourite buildings (library, theatre, lighthouse, courthouse and others)

Anyways, this somewhat shocks me, I didn't realize that you (specifically) built buildings when you play this game!

Never played Ethiopia so I am fine with it.

What's an oromo? Is that a unit or a bird?

I don't know about you Bolan, but it kind of sounds like a name of a native American Indian tribe to me.

What ever it is, I bet it's damn hungry!

I want to know where I got this reputation as some kinda lunatic warmonger! Of course you gotta have buildings. They're good for burning and looting (or, if you have any intelligence, the other way round, not that the Fightin' Firteenth cared particularly)

doh, don't listen to Zigs advice. Zig knows everything about science, cottages and techies but he's too chicken to start a war.

BTW. since when are we despots listening to what other people have to say.

Hah, don't worry, I'm practicing... Wars give me such a rush now. I won my first war yesterday with superior numbers and inferior technology -- I was about an era behind, but with enormous quantities of very veteran macemen, city raiding trebuchets and flanking knights... I had to lower my research to 20%. If that's not the spirit of warfare, I'm changing teams!

(Um, I'll try a game on Monarch next... )
