Champion:

Konrad von Richtmark - Score: 31,939   Year: 1964AD (Conquest)

Greetings all.. this game for the Beyond the Sword CivIV expansion...

Version: 3.13

Standard Map with default rivals.

Note: This is an unrestricted leaders game... Your civ is Native America.. Your leader is:

Please note that the civs you contact will have interesting leader combinations as well.

Settings:

Note the "No Tech Brokering" above

Traits:

Start Position:

Victory Conditions

All Victories have been enabled and all will be accepted

Highest Normalized Score in any of the accepted Victory Conditions will be declared BTS GOTM Champion for October.

When you complete the game, take a screenshot of the Victory screen where it lists your leadership counterpart in history. You may post the screenshot in the GOTM thread and then Email your final save (hopefully one just before victory) to me. Saves should be named as follows: [username]Oct07BTS.CivBeyondSwordSave

The Email address to send the GOTM is my username @1bcciv.com ... Of course, instead of "my username" of course I mean the name I post with here at 1bc.

What are the rules?
The rules are fairly simple: Play fairly.

This means that you play within the spirit of the competition. As it is a friendly competition, we like to believe that there is no real incentive to cheat - but unfortunately, people do. Any persons found to be cheating will have their games removed, and there is a strong possibility that they will be banned from participating in the future.

Cheating includes (and is not limited to):

  1. Playing the game multiple times and submitting the best effort (or even playing to get knowledge of the map, the replaying then starting the game again).
  2. Using any sort of programs to edit the game or save files.
  3. Altering the XML or using other mods that give you an unfair advantage.
  4. Reloading an earlier save-file and replaying turns in a different way. The only time you may reload a save file is to start a new play session, and you must use the save file from the end of your previous session.

Also, if in doubt, ask. If you think you have found a new loop-hole or exploit, then we strongly suggest that you ask as to its legallity before you use it. The aim of the competition is not to see who can exploit the rules, and as such, we reserve the right to disqualify submissions based on exploits that are discovered later.

Good Luck all...

Well, I'd hate to lose two turns moving that settler south, but that blue circle must be heeded...

Well, the fact that Ragnar leads the Americans kinda gives it away doesn't it?

I am thinking about moving NW loosing 1 turn. Those whales are not that good anyway and this will probably still give room for another city at the coast. Well, I still have some time to think about it until I get that stupid patch.

Since this is my first GOTM I have to ask, is the leader named Bolan Longpants for a purpose, or are we supposed to change it somehow to our own username?

It's just tribute to the current champion. Some change it (somewhere under options), some leave it.

Just played for a bit. I contained the Celts, er, no, the Maya, through nasty city placement. All they have is some fringe coastal towns. Haven't settled on a strategy yet, so I'm sorta flying loose. Not the best way to play if the other civs are huddled together. Better get caravels fast. Hey! That's a strategy of some sort...
