Also, don't forget, even though Portugal is feeble, they still have individual units roaming about. Units which, feeling opportunistic, could grab an unguarded city from us. We *will* benefit from building those axes, one way or the other, even if Seoul suddenly turns into a fortress.

I switched research to Mathematics -> Construction. In the worst case scenario, we'll need catapults to bring down Korean defences.

"The Great Wall affects the area inside the owner's cultural borders on that continent even if it is physically outside of the Great Wall. The effects are that barbarians cannot enter that area and the owner receives more Great General points from combat within that area."

Please note the words "on that continent". It would prove very interesting if we are connected by that mountain to another large landmass, especially as far as GG points are concerned.

If Konrad as current Dictator wants to rush the Koreans that's fine with me. I'm all for opportunism myself. Even if they fortify an archer there, three axes will be sufficient for victory. There will be an economic cost, but I feel that is more tolerable than facing those rocket propelled catapults later on (and the enhanced military we will be required to produce to deal with them.) And grabbing a religion and a Holy city too; it's priceless! We don't lose anything by knocking off the Koreans early IMO.

One tiny little detail I noticed in my game yesterday is that barbarian ships CAN and DO enter your borders. I guess that makes sense, for those who want things to make sense, but just so you all know. I lost a couple of triremes to their galleys. Bah.

It will be interesting to see what a far-away crappy city without even its holy building will do to our economy. I feel a told-you-so moment approaching...

*Grumble*. Smartass mofo. On what difficulty have you won the game, may I ask? The reason I'm not exactly familiar with how TGW works is simply that even if I could leave my cities unguarded against barbarians, other civs aren't usually that compliant. Hence I prefer more of a blood and iron approach to territorial incursions.

Hey, I'm just messin' with ya.    I'm pretty sure I'm the worst player on the team so it makes me feel good to tell a good player some "new" info.

I think I'm still in favor of rushing the Koreans.  I'd rather do it now than later.  That said, we should be weary of expanding too quickly.  Should we raze the other one and keep the holy one?

Breaking news! The gooks have built another warrior in Seoul! Which means they don't have pointy projectile technology yet. This bodes well for us, I'm building up for the invasion as we speak.

Pyongyang has only one warrior in case anyone wonders.

Oh yeah, that's what I love about this game. I thought I was right, and Konrad conceded, then it turns out he was right, now we get to see if Zig knows what he's talking about, meanwhile jerm admits he's useless, and we haven't even met the Alphans yet

What a hoot!

Well, at least we dictators can afford conceding to be wrong at points. Contrary to the democrats who will have to keep up a facade of being right due to pesky voter concerns and previous agreements between parties.

If we would be democrats, I frankly don't think I would have dared to change plans mid-air on the settlement of River Scorpius. The liberal media would have used the opportunity to eat me alive

Attention! The gooks just got their first archer! Their total military might is, as far as I have scouted: One archer and three warriors in their homeland, and a single warrior scouting around somewhere north of Megaton.

Five axemen should be sufficient to win though. All our homeland is garrisoned too, so that single warrior-scout shouldn't be able to cause any malarkey.
