i havr tried 2 load patch 1.29 and still not workig help

Is it saying "must have Civ III in order to install?"

If so, you will have to reinstall Civ III vanilla as that it means that the computer no longre recognizes the registry entries indicating you've installed Civ III

Good news is that Civ III gold, which is Civ III and Play the World, is selling for ten bucks at Best Buy...where I just had to buy my copy

Patch 1.29f is for the original game...  IIRC patch 1.22f is final for conquests.
