i've had Civ 4 for a while now, which has been on my old laptop. i recently bought a wondows vista laptop and downloaded the game on the laptop and try running it but a window pops up and says i have compatibility issues. is there any patches or solutions i could do to make the game run... thank you

I would definitely patch it to the most current version. If that doesn't work, can you please post the exact error message you are receiving?

check online to see if solutions are available from the microsoft website. if solutions are found, windows will automatically display a website that list steps you can take. civilization 4 has a known capability issue with this version of windows and might not run as expected after that little bubble pops up it sends me to civ 4 download center. I've downloaded the newest patch but that seems to not work

I have yet to hear anyone say "I love Windows Vista and everything works great on it...ESPECIALLY games...they're awesome now." In fact, I hear quite the opposite. I hope you can get a fix to it, but this just makes me wanna continue to ignore another MS product. Ugh.

I know of many companies which have moved off of Vista to XP. Deja vu - 98SE.

I hate to suggest another site, but you might want to go to Civfanatics and search around there. Their forums have quite an extensive problem library and solutions. Sorry we weren't a bigger help.
