What an utterly moronic, and inconsequential effort by the Axis of Evil to generate a public relations, and agitational propaganda opportunity. Such bombers would have virtually zero utility against the U.S. With our myriad of high-tech intelligence and F-22 Raptors on the job, those two measly Tupolevs would be 'shot down' in flames before their pilots even got word to leave the ready room If this is the tone of the "New Cold War Song" I say let the band play on!

I meant to reply to this a while back but forgot. Hey doc, you think maybe Venezuela might be more interested, right now, in dominating and extending their sphere of influence over, say smaller, poorer countries in South and Central America, than trying to pull a funny one on the US of A with those outdated Russian fighter planes?

Venezuela is a joke. Chavez wishes he could stand up to the US and our central/south american allies but he's quite kidding himself if he seriously thinks he can. Besides, with Colombia to the west and Brazil to the southeast, he's surrounded by cocaine and boobs so he can't possibly get his people to concentrate on destroying America for any length of time.

He just wants to talk tough and get cool-points in his region and more so from his own country. I think maybe Ahmadinejad falls into that same category.
