AD1795

Megaton completes West Point and welcomes a Sushi executive.

Our destroyers show themselves for the first time and sink two Alphan ironclads just for fun, and to show them who's boss. Bismark keeps trying to taunt me.....

Well, we'll see soon enough.  I seem to recall a certain misjudgement costing you guys a sizable number of troops last they tried any land assault.  I could only assume you were still sticking to the water.

and I replied:

If you think that was a misjudgement I'm not surprised you lot are losing so badly

Do they truly believe it was a misjudgement, or are they just trying to be clever?

Nothing much else to report. The Japanese galleon seems to be dithering. Maybe it is not full of troops. That would be a shame. Gigaton has turned into a stonking powerhouse. With a factory and a coal station I shudder to think what its production capacity will be.

I should like to take this one more turn to AD1800 and then that will be that. I shall give a final end of term address and fully expect that to be my last turn at this game, ever (except maybe the ceremonial nuking ceremony - we shall see)
There is no way the Alphans are going to last more than two or three more terms even if they don't realise it yet. They pretend, they bluster, they build their machine guns and defend their coastal cities unaware of the horrible fate we have in store for them.

Go, bury your heads deeper in the sand, Alphans, for the green-tinged day of reckoning approaches faster than you could possible believe.

Don't worry, tones, you will be given the keys to the nuclear silos if I (as I totally expect) manage to give us nuclear capability during the next term.

The trade screen (F4?) should list the amount of gold available for trades; it also gives information on techs not available for trade. Perhaps this is where Biz gets his info... No spies required.

Well, we'll see soon enough. I seem to recall a certain misjudgement costing you guys a sizable number of troops last they tried any land assault. I could only assume you were still sticking to the water. [Wink]
Huh? Didn't you raze a city?! Perhaps they're still celebrating that little victory in Japan 30 turns ago.

1800AD

A new century.

And, boy, how we have entered!

Cutiing edge technology. Speaking of which....

Oxford University completed.

But just to the north, Gigaton our capital has started work on a factory that will take a whole two turns to complete!

Foreign news: OSS Runny Nose was defeated by a Japanese frigate and caravel ( what the heck, I didn't like the name anyway) and the Jap galleon looks like it may be about to try and invade. Please, Japanese, come to us, and give us experience points. We love you.

But I have kept the best news until last.

This totally guarantees victory.

No question.

....

....

...

..

.

Yup.

We got a Great Engineer. Can you believe it?

Konrrad, I leave it to you. You have a GEng, and a GA and GP for a Golden Age. You have Assembly Line, an overwhelming navy, matchless espionage and a continent about to become a production powerhouse.

I shall retire to Citadel of Gods to watch our progress on the 1000 ft plasma screen erected in the Plaza Imperitorium.

Fare well, my friends.

(valedictory and self-congratulatory speech to come. You don't get away with it THAT easily)

Looking very good guys. I was still under the impression when a civ is gone all the 'I yearn for my motherland' unhappy faces would be gone as well. That engineer was lucky. Are we gonna build that Mining inc. coorperation? It would be very nice to build it in the city which already has Sid's Sushi.

That has already been done. And yes, a culture ceases to exist when its civ is destroyed, but apparently (as we others thought) that doesn't apply to barbs.
