Ouch indeed. I managed to snatch two saucy resources early on with my second city (settler built almost off the bat), but teching was so slow that I couldn't focus on more expansion. Instead I built the Great Library and am now poppoppopping great scientists to help me out. I have no idea what to do next. There seems to be no end to the buggers. It's taking 6 units per city to keep them off my turf. I may just start a regular game to, um, differentiate a little...

I'm somewhere in the 1800's now and although the Barbarians are no longer any problem at all, the Babylonians have just declared war and I had lapsed somewhat on my military while trying to catch up with techs. Now scrambling all I can to hold the buggers off but they are strong so this could get very messy. Even if I end up winning this I don't think I will get a decent score.

Whats the deadline. Since I got my rig reinstalled, I think I'll try it. Will let you know later today if it looks like I'll actually run the distance or not.

By cultural victory in the late 1900's.

Spamming axemen in the begining is all you need to do to keep the barbs away.  My score is so low because Hannibal ended up taking over 45%+ of the map.  So he had 4000 score and I had 2000.  That's what I get for being too lazy to go to war and just building wonders and missionaries all game.

Ouch, I got double teamed in the end and I could just not hold them off, destroyed in 1912. A bit disappointed but my first attempt on Prince mode so not a bad attempt. I can't believe how many units they sent, it was impossible to hold the buggers off.
