I'm guessing we know the answer to that question.  RK, I really DO NOT care what YOU ARE opinion is.  (Hmmmm, didn't work there SO GOOD.)  I have my ways.  Cleo has hers.  _M_ has his.  AND so on and so forth.  Point being, you have the brain capacity to figure out what I said, right?  Use it.  Stop begging for an enema!

So, (throws bomb) what's the big deal with the government regulating what kids will be allowed to buy anyway?

Relights fuse...  Because video games are being singled out.  If the politicians, lawyers, and pc footsoldiers were targeting all these forms of media it would be one thing.  I still wouldn't agree, but I could at least respect their position.  However only video games are being targeted for government regulation.

It's so strange that this happens to every generation.  The older generation points to the newer generation's media and cry that its immoral or garbage.  Then when the younger generation gets older, they turn around and do it to the next one.  People can be such hypocrites.

I'm not really going to disagree, I just wanted to make sure people know why they are against it.  The article you linked to is showing results of a policy of some sort?  Why is it that companies have decreased sales to minors with regards to M Rated video games but not with Eplicit Lyric music and Rated R movies?  Is there a higher penalty in doing so?  I guess I don't get what the government did that is different with Video Games than Movies and Music.

...and video games aren't the only thing being singled out.  Porn, Smoking, SUV's, eating habits and lots of other things are "picked on" by the government because society sees them as social ailments and yet other things like youth drinking and hours spent by children in front of the TV are ignored which are probably just as, if not more destructive to society.  Video games are pretty low on my list of things to worry about government control.  I'd rather young people spend much less time doing something which will not do anything but waste endless hours of their lives.  While I agree in principal with less governmental oversight on these kinds of issues, video game regulations are probably last on my list of things to worry about.
