Whaddup with this???

Is John McCain a man of integrity? Or maybe he just done got confused?

Alaskan State Jet Didn't Fly on Ebay!

"How many saw her speech a couple of nights ago? Wasn't it fabulous?" McCain said Friday during a campaign stop in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. "You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was purchased by her predecessor and sold it on eBay — and made a profit."

But it turns out the twin-engine Westwind II was a tough sell on the Web — and the state eventually pulled it offline and sold it through an ordinary brick-and-mortar brokerage, for a loss, a spokeswoman said Friday.

"Governor Palin has been correct in saying that she put the plane on eBay," McCain campaign spokeswoman Maria Comella told CNN. "They did end up selling it for $2.1 million. but not on eBay."

My oh my.

Cocktail party stories are told always with a bit of the storytellers spice sprinkeld in. This is done, you might have guessed, to spice it up a bit. In no way does such culinary creativity put into question whether the cook washed his hands after the bathroom. You may say: "Well, how about Obama's Uncle @ Aushwitz then? Isnt it similar?" Well it aint. Nazi holacoust is universaly considered to be a human tragedy, and inventing a story to portray urslef or people associated with u as heros in that tragedy is pure baseness. Whereas a "luxury jet on eBay" is a story of American decadences and a common subject of half wit and pun. There is a big difference.

Also, from the accounting point of view, the selling price doesnt always have to exceed the purchase price for a profit to be recorded. There are tricks such as depriciation value to be considered.

To answer ur earlier inquiry... it has to do with Palin's gender. A lot of people wanted Clinton. So Palin is sort of a dejavu. And tell me who doesnt like the good old times. The tide created by the surprise just might carry the "couple" all the way to the finish line. U get what I am saying?

It does seem to be a bit of a nit pick.  I think M got it right.  It's not like they made it up and even at a loss, the point is she got rid of an unnecessary luxury item.  Lesson to McCain, make sure you're being accurate.

Funny that. McCain selects Palin as his running mate, and suddenly we do not have any more discussion about experience. Fact of the matter is, given McCain's age, the selection of a very inexperienced governor renders the experience argument null and void.

I was expecting my whole argument that the experience factor is overrated, on the previous page, to be shot down in an instant, but it didn't even get one comment. Does that mean people agree with me? Come on now!

Yes, muk, that's fine, story telling does tend to be a bit exaggerated, but I'm not sure why you even bring up this issue of Obama's Uncle at Auschwitz. It's not as if he was making things up, he just slipped up and said the wrong concentration camp. Clearly it was the Soviets that liberated Auschwitz, but his Uncle was indeed there for the liberation of another concentration camp.

Also, from the accounting point of view, the selling price doesnt always have to exceed the purchase price for a profit to be recorded. There are tricks such as depriciation value to be considered.

Phooey that, muk. I don't like your fuzzy math! When you sell something for less than you bought it for, plain in simple, that's not a profit!!!!!! On the one hand you are trying to defend McCain's exaggerations, on the other hand you said he was, in fact, not inaccurate. What? You want to have your cake and eat it too?

I get what your saying. First you said Obama's chances of napping in the oval office were nil, now you are saying it just might carry them (McCain/Palin) all the way to the finish line. Which is it, muk? You are wildly inconsistent. I also don't believe it is just as simple as saying that all or even most of Hillary Clinton supporters will suddenly fall into the camp of McCain/Palin. See, thing is, most people do not consciously or even unconsciously vote for the #2 on the ticket, they vote for the individual sitting on top of the throne. Though, I will admit, given Mr. McCain's advanced age, some folks may indeed hedge their bet on Governor Palin.

Palin religious background in the spotlight

Speaking of the troops in Iraq, Palin says on the video, ""Pray for our military men and women who are striving do to what is right. Also for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending them out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for -- that there is a plan, and that plan is God's plan."

It just makes me so warm and fuzzy inside that she understands G_d's will so thoroughly!!!!!

Pastor Ed Kalnin, the senior pastor of Palin's former Pentecostal church, has also come under fire for his comments. In 2004, he told church members if they voted for John Kerry for president, they wouldn't get into heaven. He told them, "I question your salvation."

Assembly of God issued a statement online in response which said Kalnin was "joking" when he suggested "Kerry supporters would go to hell," and statement went on to say, "We do acknowledge in hindsight that it was careless, and we do apologize for that. This statement is not written as a defense, but as a clarification."

If you vote for John Kerry, you will go to hell. If you vote for George Bush you will go to heaven!!!!!! It's as simple as that, folks!!! Here in the 21st century in America!!!!!!!! In G_d's Country!!!!!!!!!

LC

Ur interest in these matters is far greater than mine it seems. The only reason I was supporting McCain was bcz he seemed to be losing. Now that the race seems to have gotten equal I have lost interest really. So no, I am not aware of any particulars, and whatever I say stems from conclusions made from a few pictures I see and 5 minutes or so of TV I watch whenever I do my laundry. I say: Lets just get on with this election stuff. Its getting rather old to have to listen to same old"

I'm disappointed that McCain has chosen a Creationist. Not sure I can vote for either candidate, now that they have both positioned themselves in allegiance with the two extremes.

I don't mind the praying for the troops/leaders stuff, but when someone claims to know God's will, it bugs me.

There are a lot of extremist groups out there in the world across many faiths that all think they know God's will.
