BTS New Patch! 3.17!

Of course it breaks 3.13 games! Have you ever heard of a Firaxis patch that DIDN'T screwup everything preceding it!? Hey, I'm just crossing my fingers... though not holding my breath.

Can any1 explain me how to get this patch ? When ingame (BTS) i get the message: "no upgrade is available" From game menu i get these info re. build etc: Civ. vs. 301 Save vs 300 build vs. 3.0.0.o.93 (75237) Build date: july 5 2007 no mod/final release Something tells me i can take a patch !?

Tosk (7/21/2008) http://www.firaxis.com/support/support_detail.php?gameid=16&patch=1 there ya go This links to the v3.02, v3.03 and v3.13 patches, but the 3.17 doesn't seem to be there. I'm trying to update via the ingame updater, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything... I click on it and it tells me that the 3.17 is out there, so I say INSTALL, but it doesn't do anything. I see no progress status or anything. My firewall (Zonealarm) tells me that there is no internet activity going on, but if I try to click on any other option in game, it tells me that the patch is being installed... I tried with Zone Alarm off, just in case, but I get the same result. I'll try rebooting and see if it works, but otherwise I'm clueless... Anyone got an idea?

Just rebooted and the first I clicked on UPDATE, I got the "no update available at this time". The second time I clicked, it does what it was doing before... which is nothing. No progress bar or anything and I can So if anyone has an idea, I'd be glad to hear it.

Got fed up of waiting after half an hour, so I terminated the Civ IV process, downloaded and installed the 3.13 patch and tried to update to 3.17... same thing, the game isn't doing anything. This time I'm going to bed for real and letting the game running till tomorrow morning... which means in a little over 4 hours when I get up for work... doh!

Ok, downloaded, thanks, because after 4 hours, the patch didn't install. From the name of the link, the patch seems official, but why the hell isn't it on the official website??? Can you post a link to the discussion about it on Poly, cause I'd ready like to read a little on why it is acting that way and if it will do so on next (if any) future updates. Will reinstalling the game fix it? etc. Thanks again. :thumbsup:
