This is a dynasty game Locus and myself have started, in the ever-amazing Rhyes and Fall mod for Beyond the Sword. We're playing the Germans starting from the 600 AD start.
Turn 1:
And we're off! First settler moved east to found Posen , and send both settlers east to found cities on the Baltic and Black seas. The army moves west to get Frankfurt to flip to us. I decided to pop a revolution early, so that by the time everything is settled the government is up and running

Turn 2: Movement
Turn 3:
Frankfurt flips, and with it comes 2 pikes and a catapult. I'd love to take Venice, but its defences are too scary right now, so the army moves NW to see if we can squat the Dutch.

Turn 4: Movement
Turn 5: Movement
Turn 6: Reval founded on the Baltic
Turn 7: Movement
Turn 8:
Laundau founded on the Black Sea. I know it seems out of the way, but it'll help us against Russia. Also, since all cities are founded I decided to go ahead and convert to Christianity

Turn 9: Holland spawns, and we prepare to send it straight back to where it came from
Turn 10: A busy turn - The Vikings decide to declare war on us. No clue why, but whatever, I ignore them for now. We finally finish Sailing and so I switch research to Civil Service, so that we can get a bit of a military edge against France. Posen finishes its Library and I tell it to make a Settler - there's a spot in Dalmatia that I want to grab. Finally, we declare war on Holland and move the army into its territory
Turn 11:
The war takes precedence, and we attack Amsterdam. It is a great battle - after some early losses we quickly take the initiative and kill all but one Dutch Pikeman. Our remaining troops regroup outside the city walls and wait for the next campaigning season.
Turn 12:
Our Axeman attacks the remaining Pikeman, kills it, and ends the short-lived Dutch civilization. The war took a sizeable chunk out of our army, but I think it was worth it, as it removed a competitor in Europe, as well as cultural competition for Frankfurt. We get a military instructor. There's no pressing need for him right now, so he's fortified in Frankfurt. Use him for whatever you want

Turns 13-15: Nothing much, just healing the army, and building the economy.
From here we have a bunch of options available to us, but seeing as ours is a militaristic UHV we should probably get warring soon. We should probably start preparing for a major war, either the conquest of Italy, France, or Russia... On to you Herr Locus!

UHV Points:
1.Control Rome, Greece and France in 1870 AD.
2.Control Scandinavia, England and Russia in 1940 AD.
3.Be the first civ to complete the tech tree.
We are currently at War with the Vikings.
Goals:
1) Prepare for the Liberation of Italy.
2) Expand our workforce with two or more workers.
3) Settle Dalmatia and/or Denmark.
Turn 1- Zzzzzzzzzzzzz
Turn 2- Reval builds Library. Sheeeeit!!!! A Beserker and an Longbowman will soon be approaching that city. Ragnar will not speak to use. Nearest reinforcements are several turns away. They won't get there in time, but have been sent. This does not look good. Reval starts work on the Swordsman, but it may all be in vain.
General SUbutai joins the city of Frankfurt as a Great Instructor.
Turn 3- Frankfurt builds Library, starts Barracks.
Turn 4- Posen trains Settler, starts Barracks. Landau builds Library, starts Catapult.
Reval is now under direct threat of Viking Raiders. A Longbow garrison of our own is outside the city but will not arrive in time to defend the city.
Turn 5- Against all odds, the Heroic Longbowmen of Reval have successfully defended the city against the Viking Raiders, and quite handily at that!!!! The Viking threat has been eliminated, Reval has been reinforced with an extra Longbow garrison and peace has been made with the vikings. Hoo-AH!!!
Turn 6- Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Turn 7- Frankfurt builds Barracks, starts Swordsman.
Turn 8- Budapest founded. Starts Library. Not sure if that's the city you wanted in Dalmatia, but I had no idea, so I took it. Did you know you can mark tiles on a map with the "Alt-S" funtcion. You should use that if there is anything in particular, in game, that you'd like to see.
Reval completes Swordsmen, starts Forge.
Posen completes Barracks, starts Axeman.
Turn 9- Landau completes Catapult, starts Forge.
Turn 10- France requests Open Borders. We're certainly not just going to give such a gift to the Froggies. We see what they got. 2 gpt. What do they want for Open Borders and their 2 gpt. Iron. Not going to happpen. Forgetaboutit.
Frankfurt completes Swordsman, starts Catapult.
Turn 11- Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Turn 12- Civil Service has been acquired. Our government descends into Anarchy as Bureaucracy has been implemented. Our researchers next set their sights on Guilds, that we may shore up our economy and train the baddest mounted warriors in all or Europe.
Turn 13- Order is restored in the Government. War has been declared upon the independent nation-state of Venice. A war-party of 2 swordsmen and 2 axemen regiments have been sent in to scope things out. Will it be enough???

Turn 14- Frankfurt trains Catapult, starts Worker.
Revel completes worker, continues on with Forge.
Our War-Party discovers that Venice is heavily fortified with 4 defensive regiments. Clearly it will take more than what we currently have there to take the city. Thus our assault on Venice will wait.

Turn 15- Posen completes Maceman, starts Catapult. We're going to need some longrange fire to help us in Venice.
Word is that a great cathedral, the Notre Dame, has been constructed.
==========================
That's it. Not a lot happening this session, build up the military though, expanded the workforce some. We've experienced a drop in science, however, so a boost to our economy is in order. The biggest event by far, however was the Defence of Revel.
Goals:
1) Prepare for the Liberation of Italy.
2) Expand our workforce with two or more workers.
3) Settle Dalmatia and/or Denmark.
===================
1) We're well on our way.
2) One worker complete, one on the way.
3) Sort of, though I am not sure if where I settled exactly qualifies as Dalmatia.
We could also stand to place a city inbetween Posen and Landau to ensure continuity of our Empire before Russia or the Byzanties cut of Landau from the rest of the Empire, though I am not sure settling new lands right now is an economically wise decision. It may be worth it though.

Sorry for no pictures, my screenshots didn't get taken for some reason
Turn 1:
The army outside Venice gets moved further into Italy to scout, and evaulate the defences of Rome
Turn 2:
The army is attacked by two Roman swordsmen. Our axemen defeat them, but they are quite heavily wounded. Undeterred the army marches on Rome to find that it too is rather heavily defended. Meanwhile, troops from across the Reich move into Italy
Turn 3:
The army withdraws to the outskirts of Venice, as the mighty German army masses outside
Turn 4:
The army takes a loss from a Roman swordsman, but links up with a maceman coming down from Germany outside of Venice
Turn 5:
Zzzz
Turn 6:
England declares war on us! There's no enemy troops in sight yet, but I have a hunch they're going after Amsterdam. I turn science to zero so I can raise the cash to upgrade the axe in Amsterdam to a mace if need be. In other news we begin the bombardment of Venice
Turn 7:
We keep bombarding Venice, as troops move in
Turn 8:
Zzzz
Turn 9:
Science put back up, troops continue movement, Apostolic Palace sponsors a resolution to stop the English war against us. We vote yes
Turn 10:
The resolution succeeds, so we can hold off guarding the English front for a bit. The army moves into position for an attack next turn
Turn 11:
We take Venice! Our losses are heavy - one swordsman, one axeman, and two catapults, but more catapults and troops are on their way for the push on Rome. I use the money from the comnquest to upgrade an axeman to a mace
Turn 12:
Zzzz
Turn 13:
Zzzz
Turn 14:
I move a pre-assault force down to Rome to start the bombardment before the main force
Turn 15
We meet the Arabs who as usual dominate in score but are tottering in stability. Louis offers Calendar and 270 gold for Civil Service. I turn him down as we don't have much use for Calendar now, but on the other hand the gold could be useful, so you can take that deal if you want
You should be able to take Rome fairly easily, and after that I think we should build up our economy and industry for a bit in preparation for an attack on France. One thing that is a problem for us at the moment is happiness - I've built a Christian missionary to go to either Posen or Budapest to help with this, and I've started building temples in our other cities. If you could get your hands on some happy resources, or just spread Christianity more that would be great

tones (9/1/2009) I was minded to compare this site to a sort-of-private Facebook, but, on reflection, that's not right . . . Nope. Here is a forum to exchange views and discuss topics and maybe have some literary fun; post some interesting pics (not Megabits of family krap); flag up some internet sites of Interest; pass on the occasional joke. To me, (struggling for analogy here) it's bit more like a quiet and cosy pub with locals you know and the occasional visitor from "outside"; thick stone walls and a cellar full of well-kept ale. Facebook, on the other hand, is some awful massive city-centre club that serves Fosters lager. And, you know what? I am not unhappy with that analogy. I prefer the pub.

Indeed, Scip. On to the report...
UHV Points:
1.Control Rome, Greece and France in 1870 AD.
2.Control Scandinavia, England and Russia in 1940 AD.
3.Be the first civ to complete the tech tree.
We are currently at War with the Vikings.
Goals:
1) Prepare for the Liberation of Rome
2) Expand our workforce with two or more workers.
3) Shore up our economy and production capabilities.
4) Acquire happiness luxuries and buildings.
We trade to Russia Pigs for access to their fur. This is a good deal for us for now, we need happiness in our realms.
We have sold knowledge of Monotheism to the pagan Vikings for 40gp. It is old technology and we could use the gold.
The bombardment of Roma has begun. City defences have been reduced from 100% to 98% . It will be awhile before we can take the city at this rate.
Turn 1- Whispers from the east tell us a Turkish civilization has been born. We have successfully spread Christianity to Posen.
Bomabardment of Roma continues - 96% defences intact.
Turn 2- Guilds have been established throughout the realm. We now focus our efforts on mastering Engineering, that we may improve every facet of our military.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 92% defences intact.
In other news, the French have declared war on Roma, and have brought to the city walls an attack force of their own. We must not let them take this city.
Turn 3- Posen and Frankfurt each complete Forges and each begin Knights.
Venedig completes Monument and begins work on a Library.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 86% defences intact.
Turn 4- Bombardment of Roma continues - 80% defences intact.
Turn 5- Bombardment of Roma continues - 74% defences intact.
Turn 6- Posen completes Knight, begins catapult.
Amsterdam completes Christian Temple, begins Christian Missionary.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 68% defences intact.
Turn 7- Our newest census tells us we've crossed the 2 million threshold. We are also leaders of the known world in food production, manufactured goods production and population. Hoo-AH!!!!
Bombardment of Roma continues - 62% defences intact.

Turn 8- Word reaches us, from the East, the the fledgling Turkish Empire has conquered the Byzantine Empire. We must be wary of them.
Posen completes Catapults, starts Stables.
Frankfurt completes Knights, starts Catapults.
Reval and Budapest complete Markets, and both start Workers.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 56% defences intact.
Turn 9- We have learned that enemy agents within our borders have destroyed a Horse Pasture east of Landau. We must step up counterespionage measures.
Posen completes Stables, and begins a Marketplace.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 50% defences intact. Time is drawing near.
Turn 10- Frankfurt builds Catapult, starts Market.
Amsterdam trains Christian Missionary, starts Forge.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 44% defences intact.
Turn 11- The slaves.....errrrr citizens of Landau has completed construction on a University for the splendor of Greater Germany and all the world to see, The University of Sankore. Celebrate!!!! Sankore begins building barracks.

Budapest has trained a worker, starts the Forge.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 38% defences intact.
Turn 12- Never a dull moment. Russia has declared war on us, and have set their sights on Landau (See Picture). So much for those fur imports... A few Horse Archers are stalking around the city and in two turns the Trebuchet will begin their assault on the city. To divert our Knights from the frontlines of Rome, it would take 5 turns for them to arrive in Landau. But new defences and counter offensives for Landau will be deployed in 2-5 turns, so I am going to hedge my bets that they won't attack (Landau is defended by a Longbow, Catapult and carries 40% city defences), and keep the Knights on the front line. How foolish these Russians are.

Posen and Frankfurt complete Markets, both start on Knights.
Landau completes Barracks, starts Catapult.
Reval trains Worker, starts Catapult.
We have traded with the French, Paper (now that Sangkore is complete) for knowledge of Calendar, Meditation and Aesthetics. We discover that it is the year 1400 AD, which means we had better get a move on it with these wars.
Bombardment of Roma continues - 32% defences intact.
Further, we have sold excess Pigs to England for 3 gpt and Wheat to the Vikings for 2 gpt, to help with our financial woes.
Turn 13- 1405 AD The Russians do not attack Landau. A vote is called from the Apostolic Palace to end the war of aggression against the Holy Roman Empire. We emphatically vote yes.

Meanwhile, intelligence has gathered that a French garrison of two more Horse Archers and a Trebuchet will soon be moving in on Roma. If we are going to take the city, we are going to have to time things just right...
Bombardment of Roma continues - 24% defences intact.
Turn 14-1410 AD The Apostolic vote has passed to end the war, overwhelmingly. Only Russia and Turkey voted "no". Unfortunately, for our sake, Russia has defied the Resolution and thus the war wages on. On the other hand, Russia seems to have backed off of Landau, the trebuchets are gone, but 4 Horse Archer regiments remain in the area.

Also, oddly, France seems to have pulled all of their regiments off the frontlines of Roma. Not sure what they have in mind. Hope they aren't planning to send those troops our way...
We have sold our knowledge of the Calendar to England in exchange for knowledge of Engineering (hey, we're only 2 turns away) their World Maps, and 10 goldpieces. The world is a lot bigger than I had imagined.

We have now set our sights on the mystique of Gunpowder.
We have also sold our knowledge of Paper to Spain in exchange for 70 goldcoins!
Bombardment of Roma continues - 18% defences intact.
Turn 15- All quiet on the Eastern Front. Russia done got scared. France has repositioned their forces outside of Roma. They could take it or we could.
We reduce the city defences of Roma to 10%. With 4 catapults on board and 6 assault regiments up against 6 defenders in the city, we could probably lead with the catapults and take the city with out further bombardment on the next turn, if France does not attack first. They have fewer artillery (one trebuchet, one catapult) and just as many assault regiments (6, though two of those are defensive in nature) so I just don't think they will attack), but we have to be sure. If we attack and do not take the city, they will. Then we will have wasted many resources and time, and will have to take it eventually anyways, from a more hostile opponent.
Posen completes Knight, begins Christian Temple.
With Russia wavering on Landau, we have sent the Knight to Roma, but it will not arrive in time to participate in the attack next turn, if you choose to do so. It would be able to attack after that though.
==========================
Goals:
1) Prepare for the Liberation of Rome
2) Expand our workforce with two or more workers.
3) Shore up our economy and production capabilities.
4) Acquire happiness luxuries and buildings.
===================
1) The Liberation draws near. If you time it right, the city will be ours.
2) Two workers added, though Russians did capture one near Landau. ***s.
3) Yes, many marketplaces have been built in our cities, and we have quite a few forges as well. In fact, we are the world's leaders in productivity.
4) We had some furs coming in for awhile, until Russia declared war on us. But some Christian Temples have been built two.
=================================
Getting the University of Sankore was a good move. Now that we've got Meditation, we should try and build the Christian Monastaries across the board, as well as temples, to take full advantage of the Science boost that comes along with the University.
That said though, our number one priority, the way I see it, should be to get our defences in our cities upgraded. I've set us on a course for Gunpowder, but for some cities, I don't think we should wait that long. Budapest has a lone Axeman, Frankfurt a lone Archer. Turkey or France could so have these cities if they wanted to.
Otherwise, I feel we are in good shape right now, and after Roma is settled, we should be able build another city of our own, either in Denmark or Ukraine.
Have fun.

Turn 1:
The French attacked Roma, but were barely beaten back, leaving it to drop into our hands with no casualties. The cavalry forces have been sent over to Russia to help over there. We might not have started this war with Russia, but we will finish it

Turn 2:
We attack the Russian force sent to attack laundau, and inflict heavily casualties, at the cost of 1 knight (at 90% odds, guess the RNG is back to hating us), and 1 catapult
Turn 3:
We wipe out the Russian force outside Laundau, with no casualties. Next turn we will begin scouting and possible offensive operations against Russia. In worse news, the blasted French have "culturally conquered" a large portion of Northern Italy that we gained by force of arms. Methinks France should be next on the hit-list

Turn 4:
We get a great scientist in Reval, use him to pop education. A probe shows Moscow to be not-so-heavily defended. Preperations for an offensive begin
Turn 5:
I start moving the catapults to the outskirts of Moscow to begin bombardment. We trade education to france for Divine Right and Literature, and trade some old techs to the Vikings for compass
Turn 6:
The plague has arrived in Russia! This means that very soon it will arrive in Europe proper, and our beautiful army will be so many dead bodies, so we push to try to take Moscow before it comes
Turn 7:
The plague has arrived in moscow at the same time as our armies. Now it becomes timing and luck - we must take Moscow before our armies are decimated.
Turn 8:
The plague reaches Laundua, making a retreat impossible - our army must take Moscow or perish, and take it they do. We take monstrous losses, including nearly our entire siege corps, but this was calculated as the plague would have taken them soon anyway. We move what's left of our army into Moscow and hope to get terms soon
Turn 9:
The plague reaches inner Germany, and starts decimating our soldiers and people. I take advantage of this to build up infrastructure, as there's no point building soldiers. I also sign Open Borders with most of Western Europe, as I want the plague to spread to them so that we can spread the pain a bit. Peter offers the city of Arkhangelsk in exchange for peace, and I accept hoping that it might be some wonderfully rich city in the middle of the Russian plain...

Oh. Well, one less city to take from the Russians eh? It's interesting, but the plague seems to have left Moscow when we took it, so I order most of the army there to see if we can't wait out the plague
Turn 10:
Muahahaha. The plague is sweeping Western Europe from Germany, so all Europe feels the pain of the plague. I get some dye from Mehmed of the Turks for pigs, but either he or France is our next target, so we shouldn't rely on it. He'll also convert to Christianity for 190 gold, but I hold off because I want the possibility of a Christian holy war against him open. I've also starte building three settlers to found cities in Ukraine, Southern Italy, and Denmark. I can't remember if settlers get killed by the plague, but hopefully not
Turn 11:
This appears to be a short plague - its already left Russia, and has left Frankfurt and Amsterdam so we start to rebuild defenders
Turn 12:
Zzzzz
Turn 13:
Trade paper, some gold, and another small tech I've already forgotten to the Vikings for Optics
Turn 14:
The plague seems to have left Germany, so I move the army to the Western front. It's actually still quite large, with the exception of the siege corps which we should start to rebuild soon. We settle Brest-Litowsk in Ukraine on the spot you wanted,
Turn 15:
We settle Copenhagen in Denmark
That turnset went pretty well I think, except for the obliteration of our catapult army. The next priority should be the conquest of France. We have the men to do it, we just need to siege equipment, and I've started to build a few cannons to that end. ...
BTW, we've been emailing the save to each other because of zip issues, so if anyone wants a copy just ask and I'll send you one
