Is anyone even playing Civ4 anymore? The lack of posts in this forum, would leave me to believe not?

Well I am!!!

In my recent single player epic game, as Celts, I noticed when you click on and open up a city-screen, one voice says "Is this it?" and a second voice responds "It is, sir." They sound British.

I wonder if anyone has ever noticed this before, or any other kind of "easter eggs" in the programming.

Yeah I don't play Civ 4 anymore. My only commitment is the PBEM we are playing at the moment.

I just got bored of it, unfortunately, like many others here (I think?!)

Didn't notice those Easter Eggs though!

I'm still playing it, although I am starting to get bored quicker during games. I prefer the early part of the game, I rarely actually get to the end techs.

Can't say i have noticed any easter eggs but half the time I am playing with the sound off anyway!

Thanks Dave, and Gentry, I am kind of like you, with a preference towards the early game, just getting everything established. But recently I've bumped up the difficulty level to Emperor level, and this has been very challenging for me, forcing me to rethink strategy and pay closer attention to details, and long term planning, trying different things I hadn't considered before, so it has kept my interest level up.

Plus, the Rhye's and Fall mod is great for a change of pace from the epic games, every once in a while. With the Civilization specific goals to focus on, various aspects of my civving have been improved as well.

That last patch really took the wind out of my sails. I was getting all psyched up because of the History in the Making Mod. I was even contemplating making a scenario or something.

Now I've moved on to other games, and will hopefully phase out the gaming pretty much completely over the next six months or so. Will probably have gained control of all Calradia in Mount&Blade by then . . .

I was minded to compare this site to a sort-of-private Facebook, but, on reflection, that's not right . . . Nope. Here is a forum to exchange views and discuss topics and maybe have some literary fun; post some interesting pics (not Megabits of family krap); flag up some internet sites of Interest; pass on the occasional joke. To me, (struggling for analogy here) it's bit more like a quiet and cosy pub with locals you know and the occasional visitor from "outside"; thick stone walls and a cellar full of well-kept ale. Facebook, on the other hand, is some awful massive city-centre club that serves Fosters lager.   And, you know what? I am not unhappy with that analogy. I prefer the pub.

I'm still playing, but I rarely touch normal Civ4 anymore. Mainly I divide my time between RFC (sorry my dynasty turn is taking so long LC, I should have it in soon) and Fall From Heaven as well as the PBEM we're doing.



Jerm: I'd love to play a game of Diplomacy if we can find some other people up for it
