Can't start game on Vista

I cannot start the game I receive a message that reads: Font Error Error loading font (Error code 28)!! The game will now exit And that is it. I have a brand new laptop with Vista SP1. I installed Civ3 Complete once, and am thinking about removing it to reinstall it. I have also tried to run it in XP SP2. Thanx for your time.
