ok so its my first game, map size: standard, 8 civs, continent, the rest was randomized. i was playing with the aztechs. i think i spelled that wrong. ok anyway to the game!

my starting locationion wasnt all that great, it  really set up for a bad corruption situation. i was at the northernmost spot of my continent which contained the iroquois, and the americans. i took the early lead, but then the americans took over for a long while. at about 2500 BC i declared war on the iroquois within 20 turns they were crippled, i had destroyed any power they had, they fled and made 2 cities behind the americans, who i knew had to be next. i built up and expanded during the next years. i made a complex system of roads and mined almost every tile in my country. i build up my military.

I wanted the whole continent so i declared war on america at about 1000 BC. it was only a real war for about 15 turns, after new york and washington fell it was just a clean up job. But the war lasted all the way to 1400 AD. a heavy price to pay for the whole continent, but thats what i had, the whole continent, all to myself.

By now i had entered the middle ages, since i dont capture cities, i raze them, the next 200 years was spent settling more cities and building up.

the industrial age was eventful, i discovered the other continents, i immediately decided that i would destroy the persians as soon as i aquired marines. After i had them, i attacked and crippled them.

This is where it all starts to go downhill, i have the lead by 200 points, that is an important piece of info. ok, so germany gets pulled into the war with persia because they had a MAP, Germany then signs an alliance with the Zulus, who are on the same continent as the persians. the French and the Babylonians both had a MAP with the zulus, so now every single country is at war with me. i say bring it.

im now in the modern age, where most of the others are either in the middle ages or in the early industrial age.so i destroy 3 german cities, then destroy the persians.

But then when i try to access the saved game, it was corrupted  OH NO!

i would have won this game, i had the points lead, the culture lead, and the tech lead, oh and the military lead, so now i proceeded to warlord, but what do u guys think? If u want anymore details, just ask i will answer

my starting locationion wasnt all that great,

Is that some kind of GPS vegetable?

since i dont capture cities, i raze them, the next 200 years was spent settling more cities and building up.

There could be some kind of connection here.

when i try to access the saved game, it was corrupted  OH NO!

You might try the most recent autosave and maybe rescue your game.

Welcome to the boards Yankee!

Been so long since I played Civ3, I can't really comment on the specifics of your epic, but it sure sounds like fun!

Raze a city for me will ya?

Welcome to the boards!

You'll find that SOME of us are still playing III, so don't worry... There's help and people to share stories with.

As to razing their cities.. That's ok if you're feeling vindictive, but it saves time, money, and resources if you just take it over.  Just a thought.  Now, if it's in a horrible location, then yeah.  But it's 95% of the time better to steal it.

Yeah.. try the AutoSave (if you haven't disabled it). I've had to pull one out here and there to get a game back because of that.

Don't worry about them peaceniks.  Keep up the good work.

Any questions, concerns, stories? Keep posting!
